I need to build a addition on to my house it is a simple apartment like 600 sq feet nothing fancy simple and plan. No vaulted ceilings or anything else that is not standard.

I hear there are ready made blueprints to be had like in magazines or on the net. If anyone knows where I can get these ready made blueprints please let me know thanks.

I think you are a bit mis informed.

Standard drawings may be used for design purposes.

To modify an existing structure, you will need to submit plans to the local building department to receive building permits. These plans will integrate the new with existing structure.

The recommended course is to contact an architect to assure proper materials are specified and building codes are met.

Contact three Licensed General Contractors for quotes. Be sure all contractors quote same specified materials. Should an alternative material be suggested, check with the architect and other contractors to level the playing field for comparable quote analysis.

Pay only 90% of contract in progress with the final payment upon final code and check (punch) list inspection.
