I know that in church people would talk about angels being there. Is there any way to know the difference...if it's an angel or a spirit? (I know the skeptics will say "there's no such thing as spirits or angels...but c'mon and put your 50cents worth in & get your 2 pts.)

angels are much closer to us than spirits, they have their own way of communication, when we need answers, they will always be there when we need them...between angels and spirits there is a huge difference..angels dont go around haunting but will only assist when needed .i have posted some pics on a web site, 2 of them have captured an angel....take a look

Sometimes I have very strange thoughts such as, just suppose angels were spirits of people that have evolved to a higher plane. I am of the mind that nothing is wasted in this universe, that everything is simply recycled to the better good of all. That even bacteria ,virus, and microscopic organisms are reused to form some other thing.I have had thoughts that since the God being is Omnipotent they would not create a soul simply to discard it at the time of death.

This soul could keep on evolving until it becomes an angel with it's ultimate goal to evolve into the God family, thus this whole process being the means of God expanding his family.
I have always been curious about the part in Genesis when God says let US make man in our image! Who was he speaking with? These are only a few of the various ideas I sometimes think of.

They are one & the same. Spirit is spirit is spirit!

They come in many forms or rather 'vibrations'. Spirit is a term used to describe those who do not reside here in bodies.

An angel is a high spirit, usually messengers of life changing facts & healing.

Spirit of all varieties draw close when people join together in love, whatever the place or reason. These can include loved ones.

We all have many, many guides in spirit, so these will also be there at such times.

Speaking from a religious viewpoint, in Christianity all angels are spirits but spirits are not all angels. Other religions may say differently. Speaking from the skeptic viewpoint, such subjective experiences are immune to objective differentiation between spirit, angel, ghost or goblin, even if they did exist.

It's possible people confuse spirits with angels and vice versa. I also think it's quite possible people are mistaking angles and spirits for something else entirely.

It's a very subtle difference, the different feel of an angel and a spirit. Angels come with a very loving presence, and they will only show themselves if and when you ask them to. So a lot of times, say if you've asked them to help you with something, you'll feel the resulting answer more the angel's presence itself. I can feel a spirit in the room with me, but I can't always feel my angels. They can cloak themselves for me (long story). Angels are more regal feeling, very formal and super polite. It's a very subtle difference. But they come with a very loving, very comforting presence, they send it out so that you know you're safe, to put you at ease. I wish I could bottle it. A hug from an angel is a truly beautiful thing and I can't seem to describe it, but very different in feel than a human spirit.
