LOL
What a bunch of interesting answers. If this forum has done one thing for me it has made me incredibly grateful to have been raised in southern california where religious diversity and bigotry just isnt that big of an issue. Some of you people just dont have a clue yet you do have a lot of opinions on something you know very very little about.
Now excuse me while I go sacrifice my puppy on the altar of my mormon cult table.

I've always found the Christian assault on Mormonism to be wildly ironic. The evidence that Joseph Smith was the charlatan that he was suggests that people can sincerely believe things cut out of whole cloth by liars. The parallels don't make Christianity look good.
My problem with Mitt Romney is that he's damn close to the Manchurian Candidate. I keep expecting that elaborate hair mountain to swivel away from his head revealing circuitry.

fairly, there are 2 statements interior the BoM that are evoked that are are no longer genuine. One is modern in Mormon 9:32-33, the place the declare is made that "reformed Egyptian" hieroglyphics is extra compact than their Hebrew. This assertion is consistent with early nineteenth century American wisdom of linguistics, yet after Egyptian hieroglyphics have been decoded and this information unfold to united statesa., it grew to become time-commemorated that the opposite is genuine: Hebrew is extra compact than Egyptian hieroglyphics will ever be. because of the fact this is an blunders with regard to the source language of the BoM, this is seen unfavourable. A 2d piece of blunders is modern in Ether 15:30-31, the place a decapitated Shiz struggles for breath. the precise language reads: "he smote off the top of Shiz ... he had smitten off the top of Shiz." Shiz then raised himself up on his palms and "struggled for breath." i'm afraid this is impossible and indefensible. yet, those are purely 2 of the numerous problems with the tips interior the BoM. See working example a e book by making use of Mormon historian furnish Palmer: An Insider’s View of Mormon Origins.

I grew up around Mormons, and I think they are Christian. There's nothing quite wrong with them per se, they are just a bit uptight for me. It seems they are always worried about their appearance, about what others think of them - they are a bit too structured for me to be entirely comfortable.
Plus... and I know this is a point of argument but it's always been clear to me that women do not have as high stature as men in that culture. No, they don't. I've witnessed this for many years in many ways. And I think that the idea that men can become gods for other planets is the ultimate hubris, and I don't get how this seems plausible or sensible in any way.
Then there's the whole my not believing in deities thing. So I'll never be quite on the same wavelength.

I don't have a problem with Mormons. My doula was a Mormon and she is one of the coolest people alive. I have alot of relatives that live in Utah who aren't Mormon and they have alot to say... My great Aunt says, "dirty old men"! LOL! When refering to the underpants thing and the secret ceremonies... I do think polygamy is wrong, but I know not all Mormons are polygamists.

Here's my only prob with Mormons, I spoke with a few reps on a few occasions. Then, on a subsequent visit they brought one of the elders to meet me, and it turned into a recruiting trip for them. I have never had any reason to remove someone from my home, but that day was as close as I've ever come! I've never been spoken to so rudely in my own home! The fellow basically tried to hard-sell me.
No, thank you. I have no interest in a group who holds someone so disrespectful in a high standing.

Mormons are a look alike cult. They need To know Jesus. They need salvaiton and a real relationship with God. They are just sinners that are decieved. Pray for them. They are one of three groups that were started by angles in this case the angle moron. There is a warning int he bible about false gosples comeing in the last day and a refernece about the angles bringing them. If you know God and read the book of mormon it does not take long to understand it is not of God. Because Godss spirit is not in the book.

I'm not that familiar with mormonism, but don't you guys think that you can become gods?
Also, I'm skeptical about Joseph Smith "translating" documents that he refused to show anyone.
