If you went to college and still have an email you can go to the Microsoft website and either get it for free or Office 2007 for $60.00.

Hi,

Excel is made by Microsoft, iWork is made by Apple. OpenOffice is made by Sun Microsystems. Each of the products competes for your business.

There are substantial differences in capabilities and prices of each of the programs. As you have discovered, iWork is not exactly the same as Excel. Neither is OpenOffice.

Microsoft does not give Excel away for free. Normally, you can save some money by purchasing Excel as a stand-alone product instead of the entire suite. However there is a special going on right now where you can get Office 2004 AND Office 2008 at a low price. The site says you could save up to $500 US.

You might be able to sell your copy of iWork on eBay or to a friend. Have you tried to return iWork to the store from which it was purchased? It obviously does not meet your needs.

you can't get it for free, but if you're a student or teacher, or if a student (a child) uses the computer, you could but Office Mac Student/Teacher edition. It's a lot less expensive than the regular version of Office.

Yes, NeoOffice or OpenOffice. NeoOffice uses a Aqua GUI (nicer looking), whereas OpenOffice uses X11 window system.

You can always torrent it but we don't condone software piracy.
