i heard its possible to run windows vista on ps3
if this is true couldnt you buy a vista version of halo 3 and put it on a ps3

No, you can run Linux on the PS3, and you can even run Windows slowly on the PS3 through emulation on linux, but you cannot use 3D applications such as games on the PS3 through Linux. This is because Sony locked the RSX GPU with hypervisor while in another OS.

Actually that is incorrect. The operating system on the PS3 doesn' allow any Windows or Microsoft software to run on it. You can however install and run Linux on the PS3.
