If you are tempted to skip your exercise one day, give yourself permission to shorten your workout or do some different physical activity instead but don't skip. Usually, getting started is the hardest part.

For me, I am motivated by the feeling I get from working out. After exercising, I feel calmness and a sense of energy at the same time. My moods are stable and my thinking is sharper. Looking better is just a bonus.

Just keep thinking of how good you would look and how great you are going to feel if you continue. Everytime you sit down to watch tv or something related to that, ask yourself what your doing, and go exercise. Once you continue, you wont need to be motivated, you will just do it for the energy and the way it makes you feel. That alone should motivate you. Hope i helped :)

Focus on the goal. Try different forms of exercise to see which you prefer. I prefer walking and/or running outside vs a treadmill. I get bored very easily with a treadmill. Get some form of music such as ipod or Mp3 player to help occupy your mind. Put fast paced or dance music, etc to help keep you motivated. 80's music is great for exercise. Cable TV usually offers Fit TV or go to your local walmart, kmart, etc and look for some good workout dvds.
Find a partner to work out with- you tend to stay motivated when you are working out with someone.
I've lost 21lbs since the last week of June doing this.
Hope it works for you!

You want to associate pleasure & fun with working out. Make sure that you don't push yourself to the limit every single time you exercise or else you will start to associate pain with your workout and then you'll not want to exercise.
Here are some good ideas:
1. Do something that gets your heart rate up a bit like, walking, running, biking, and swimming.
2. Eat Whole, Organic foods like: Broccoli, Cabbage, Organic Brown Rice, Beans, Spinach, Sweet Potato, Apples, and other fruits and vegetables in their Natural State.
3. Avoid eating corn, white bread, white rice, candy, sodas, chips, and anything else that you already know you shouldn’t be eating.
4. Drink clean water as your beverage of choice. Avoid Fruit drinks and fruit juices (unless YOU juice them yourself)
5. Stop smoking, drinking beer & wine, and drinking coffee.
6. Get 8 hours of sleep each night.
7. Hang out with people who want to be healthy.
8. Avoid anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Tone up the muscles:

1. Join a gym and get a trainer.
2. If you’re short on cash, start a light stretching & yoga regimen.
3. Do push-ups, and light dumbbell curls for the upper body.
4. As I said above, walk, run, swim, and or bike
5. Take an aerobics class, a yoga class, or some other fitness class.
6. Join the local YMCA..
7. Buy or borrow this book by Bill Pearl called GETTING STRONGER.
In the book, he describes everything you need for a great fitness plan.

Mental Health:

1. Get a friend to talk to each day about your feelings.
2. If you have some money or insurance, get a counselor to talk to.
3. Learn how to meditate.
4. Join a support group for the issue you’re dealing with.
5. Ask your Higher Self (or God) for guidance.
6. Start keeping a diary or journal about your feelings & thoughts.
7. Write a ‘gratitude’ list every night.
8. Do something that makes you happy each day like: listen to your favorite music, draw, paint, write, or anything creative.
9. Do something for someone else who needs help.

I get motivated real quick when I think about how my favorite jeans are getting snug on me and what I need to do to fit back in them nicely; or how I feel when I haven't been exercising - it doesn't take much time & I feel so much better when I do it.

It is such a great feeling, believe you me. I was the same way, as you once, I got started and saw how much more energy and how much better I feel and sleep and get as many compliments, as I do. It gives you confidence. Believe me, you will get so much more back in return, in the way you look and how you handle any given situation.
