You know the drill - Gandhi's in Hell, Dahmer's in Heaven.

What interest does God have in putting a system in place that rewards last minute adjustments but regards works as negligible? Is His need for glorification so great that it utterly supercedes any consideration for the quality of human interaction?

Well, um, you see, we cannot possibly understand something so great as the mind of God. He is omnipotent, and all-knowing, but even though we were made in His image, we cannot know how he thinks. Furthermore, we are not to question Him, but only trust and obey blindly, and without logic or reason. If you can do this, and do it well enough, you'll get to go to Heaven when you die. And in Heaven, God will give us all the answers to all of our questions. And no, I don't know why He won't tell us now. Don't ask questions. You're going to go to Hell...
Edit: Surprised to see that nobody yet has mentioned the ever-present "Free will" explanation

This is a parable told by Jesus
Matthew 21:28-31
A man had 2 sons, to the first he said, Go and work in the fields and the son said yes. To the 2nd son, he said go and work in the fields, but the son said no. Now the first son did not work in the fields, but the second son changed his mind and did work in the fields. Who did the work of the father?

Jesus said "I give you a new commandment: love one another (John 13:34)

This didn't answer your question, but I thought you should know these two passages.

Good on ya, as the Aussies say. I have wondered that myself. Raised as a Catholic, I could not understand how "Holy Mother, the Church," could be so unholy and yet remain the "Bride of Christ."

Yeah, that makes me mad. How can adherents of such a system claim that it's the most moral and just system ever devised?

did you know there are levels of heaven?

Did you know if you don't trust God,.. then you are wide open to the devil? Why else would gandhi preach that every path leads to enlightenment,.. when there is obvious spiritual callousness aka spiritual death. Did you know that it is a greater sin to cause someone else to sin,.. then actually committing that same sin yourself.

1- you make nothing but unfounded assumptions here
2- You are awfully disrespectful and irreverent towards the God of the universe
3- It's God's creation and God can do anything with it that He pleases

Got it?
