It's not entirely possible. Politics - government - can't be totally separated because laws are based on ethics and morals - which involve religion. The Bible says that governments serve God's purpose for keeping order - there's no way that religion and government can be kept entirely separate.

Yes, if the church has enough character.
Actually we would be better off not waiting for the church to demonstrate character.
We'd all be better off if politicians demonstrated a modicum of intelligence and character, (possibly they could purchase some), and disassociated themselves from the...church!

Absolutely. Theology has no place in the determination of real world laws and policies. And I don't want politicians making decisions based on their faith or "religious experiences".
