The sloth on the kids TV show "Big Big World" is definitely not sinful. He helps kids learn about taking care of the Earth.

"Sloth" is a natural instinct in life - it lets you know, you and your being are in need of some kind of attention - Possiblly medically, emotionally, or mentally. Ethier way, it needs attention - often medical or emotional.
A Sloth animal is a slow moving creature that has few or no teeth, leaving it with not much traction in the mouth - some examples are Armadillos, Aardvarts, Anteaters, etc. - Sounds like nature - not a sin.
Sin is a word invented by religions to make people feel seemingly worthless, or to say the least, less worthy then the IMPORTANT people - as it were. Religion was origionally meant to control people, like scaring them into believing things that have no physical proof or concrete evidence.
How many of those "religious" folk ALWAYS feel like "working" or "getting out of bed?" Ahh! - that horrible sin of sloth has set in on them. Better get out of bed quick before that "sloth" sin turns into "lust" over that partner in the bed next to you. Oh me oh my! What now?
Relax - Relax - Relax. The rest is possibly much needed. People can feel lethargic because they could be ill - not lazy. Could be people who are reffered to as "sloths" are unhappy or in unhappy relationships, and their happiness is gone or broken, and have lost their jest for life. (Emotional)
Some people are workaholics to begin with. Never-mind them. Don't misunderstand me - I enjoy work, and there is MUCH work that NEEDS to be done, and I wouldn't have a "good for nothin, lazy butt" around the house. If the person is not feeling well - it needs looking into.
If they are Physically, Mentally, Emotionally healthy, there would be no reason for them to not want to work.
Don't be so worried about "sin."
I've discovered that people who have little or no self-esteem, feel guilty about something, or feel the need to "hide" from something, or live in fear of this, that, or the other thing - generally find a "sin" in any shadow, under any rock, among the greatest achievements, etc.
Not everything is black and white - there is a huge grey area that is neither good nor bad.
My version of SIN is when you're causing harm to something or someone innocent or fragile. Animals and children especially, fit that area in life. Animals and Children are both - handle with care and respect.
Do as you will, But HARM YOU NONE! That should be LAW, and it should be practiced all around the world.
REMEMBER - You're human - just be a responsible human. Okay?

the term is slothful... meaning lazy. Laziness is spoken of in Proverbs in very negative terms. Laziness is never called a sin in the bible, but the habit often leads one into sin. God expects us to work to provide for our needs. The sloth is an animal that moves very slowly and sleeps alot. If you are slothful, you are probably a couch potato who demands that others take care of you If you work hard, provide for your needs and are a giver rather than a taker...you are not a slothful person.

Adam named all the animals, not God. Sloth means lazy. Are sloths lazy animals? I have no idea. I can see no reason that they are either constantly sinning nor sinful animals.

Sloths move very slow and were named after the sin because of their speed. Since only humans are aware of right and wrong only people can sin.

LOL. The animal was named a sloth only because it moves so slowly, even so slow as to have mold or fungus growing on its fur.

It's like saying it's a sin
if you are a couch potato,
it has nothing to do
with the little critters.

No; they cannot sin because they live purely on instinct.
