is there anything a doctor do to make me loose weight, like put me on a pill or anything, i dont want surgery but have thought about it. im 14 and weigh 140lbs. i hate how i look. cause im short, every pound shows more than someone whos tall. please help. im going to the doctor soon for something like a check up and i want to ask him then. usually stuff works better if perscribed by a doctor so i feel a diet pill or something will work better if from a doctor.

there is no magic weight loss pill, it has to come all from your hard work and determination. Your only 14 so it shouldnt be too hard. Regular exercise which can be as simple as a walk around your block, try make it a 30 min exercise though and at least 4 times a week. Eat healthier meals. If you find yourself hungry alot during the day prepare healthy snacks first thing in the morning so during the day when your hungry they are there all ready to be eaten. Cut up some carrot, celery, cucumber, grapes, watermelon or rock melon into snack sizes and place in a air tight container in the fridge. Also have a diary to write down everything that you have eaten, portion size everything so you can monitor what your putting into your body and also write down what exercise you've done....maybe you could even start a walking group with friends and family so you have some company....most importantly dont forget to give your self some gold stars not for weight loss but your effort ;-) oh and dont weigh yourself every couple of days or week, maybe do it only every 2 weeks so you can see some results and thats more motivating......dont think of it as a diet either....your making a new life choice. Good luck and keep up the effort and that is coming from a person who is on their own personal weight loss ;-)

I doubt that a doctor would prescribe weight loss pills to a minor and *certainly* not without a parents signature. You're not heavy so the best thing you can do is let them find you some counselling for your body dysmorphia. Proper counselling can also can help you make better eating choices and workout an exercise program as well...good luck

You are 14 and your hormones are up and down. You need to exercise and eat healthier. Any pills subscribed for weight loss will be eratic in a person your age, because of puberty and the effects of puberty.
Eating healthier includes staying away from junk foods, eating fruits and vegetables. Eating more chicken and fish, staying away from fried foods. Drinking lots of water. Exercise can include a lot of things from walking to playing a sports activity, if you like inside think about dancing, etc.
