Neither! I was so incredulous after reading your question that I did a search on it. I thought you were pulling our legs but it's true! I thought it was ridiculous when the 13-year-old girl got detention (some sources say suspended) for hugging a couple friends in school. But this case goes beyond absurd. This is what happens when you put insane people in decision-making positions. This paranoid lunacy has to stop. The people who made the decision to suspend this 4-year-old need to find other employment, preferably in some field that does not require sanity and rationality. Thanks for pointing out this latest example of psychotic stupidity.

That is absolutely ridiculous. The kid is 4 and he was probablly only showing affection, not being sexual in any way. I would have to say I was ashamed of the teacher's aid for being petty and the school for not realizing it's just a 4 year old boy that doesn't know the first damn thing about sex. So stupid.

If the boy intended it sexually then there may be "cultural issues" at stake. As for "punishing" a 4 year old for being effectionate.. NO I don't think it should effect his academic record either it is an integration issue or otherwise .. people shouldn't be "punished if they didn't intend harm or breach of practice.
I know that I was once punished for firing a cap gun on school property like 15 years ago... the kid asked me to do it.. the kid ended up suffering hearing loss or something.. as a result, but as for me being punished for obliging the kids request.. I never knew what hearing loss was then.. and I had no way of knowing something bad could happen. Yet I was punished?
Or in another instance in middle school when a group of kids were picking on me.. I did throw a stick.. I wasn't aiming for anyone in particular.. and i ended up hitting a wall.. and the stick ricochetted and hit one of the kids on the face - scratching their eye. (and causing him to need glasses) I never intended it.. and there is no way a throw from 20 or 30ft away could have expected to hurt someone.. (and I was given detentions for this.. oddly so was the guy I hit.. yet the other kids involved wern't, except for the guys brother. So for some reason we were but the others not.. and I was the one being harassed.
Anyway.. no the kid shouldn't be punished... but it should be explained that he shouldn't do it again, as some people don't like when children rub their face in women's breasts.
(it is a cultural issue, and I highly doubt.. it was sexual in nature for the boy.. the sad part is..).
(the humour in these things does exist)

it rather is in all probability overreaction on the area of the instructor's aide, however the child ought to be corrected because of the fact he "rubbing his face" in her chest is irrelevant habit. that's in line with threat that that's merely a pretend effect. If the habit maintains after correction or escalates, it may be desirable to have the child evaluated by utilising a psychologist. I worked at a daycare the place the main important clues that a youthful boy became being sexually abused became that he began sexually abusing different babies. If a infant is performing inappropriately sexual for his/her age, that's regularly an illustration that some thing else is misguided.

Well, in Texas, you can't be charged with a crime unless you're at least 10 years old.
Sounds like the father should be the target of any scrutiny to me. Sexual acting out at that age usually reflects behavior the child is exposed to.

How tragic! No, I think the stupid idiot/teacher's aide is hard up & nuts & should be prosecuted for thinking it was anything but an innocent hug. She's probably angry that David Koresh & Janet Reno didn't want to have sex with her & they told her she's a crazy HO.
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH, this country is making me sick.

What do you think they would have done to a four year old who groped a grown women 500 years ago, or in an early American Puritan settlement?
