Don't some of us excercize self-control AND have within us desires of simplicity? Wouldn't THAT be the most sensible and fair passage way into heaven?

If you were in a court room for say... Murder, couldn't you just say "well hey, I didn't break any of the other laws.. it was only one!" and then get off scott free? Law doesn't work that way.

God's law doesn't work that way either. One sin makes us guilty. Since we all sin, then we are ALL guilty and it doesn't matter how much or how little we do it. Once is enough. Accepting and learning about Jesus and His sacrifice to pay for our sins is the only way to get to heaven. What we do makes no difference in the way to heaven.

However, with that said, if you really love God, you will want to do things His way, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, you can! We don't try not to sin just to get into heaven, We try not to sin because we love God and want to obey him.

NO sin enters heaven. NONE.
It is not an issue of how much or how little a man sins no sinner will be united to a perfect righteous God.
It is the reason God came to the world and overcame temptation sin and death for all who will accept the atonement.

There is only one way into heaven.
John 14:6 And Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes unto the Father but through me.

We must repent of our sins and accept Jesus as LORD and Savior of our lives. That's it. There is no one good enough to enter into heaven just because they sin less than another.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD.

As we mature in Jesus, we tend to have more self control. It is a long hard trip at times, but it is worth it. I think the less you sin the happy you are too. Simplicity is my favorite word and I really am happpy and content living this way, but we all have to experience this for ourselves.

Pardon me, we are NOT all "sinners". That is a designation for the non-Christian, the ones NOT yet born-again. Yes, Christians DO sin occasionally, but usually not premeditated. Sinners are those who have not had their life altered by asking Jesus to come into their life and heart and allowing Him to do so.., that way their spirit is now born again and it's an "inside job" so that 'sinning' just isn't natural anymore and isn't a part of their desire. To confess Jesus as Lord and ask Him to be your Savior changes your sin nature into His god-nature.
Now after conversion and confession of Jesus as Lord; the flesh in indeed the same and must be brought under subjection and along the way, it does take lead over our born-again spirit but we have an advocate (a lawyer and lobbyist so to speak) in heaven on our behalf and He is our Savior and God's Son!! And when we are convicted of our sin by God's Spirit within us, we repent and ask forgiveness and the record is wiped clean again! (1John1: 7-10) It's a thing we surrender to, not DO!
When a "sinner''; one who has never accepted Jesus and accepted salvation, sins, he has no conviction or feelings of regret, unless his Mom tells him he was wrong...., but in fact, often sinner are addicted to sinning! It is still their "nature". They love it and have to do whatever they do more and more and then lie about it..., and yes, also there are Christians who have back-slid and they sin and lie about it and excuse themselves and blame others or the church or even blame God for their problems.
Most Christians truly do want to be obedient to the love of God and want to practice the love walk but just don't know how to let the Lord lead. I think they are afraid to truly surrender ALL.., like they might have to give up something they think is important. God isn't looking for sickeningly religious people..., He only wants love and gratitude from His children so He can bless our little socks off!! Trust Him and don't worry so much about 'self control'; focus on letting God control. I lived most of my life claiming Jesus as Savior, but I had to be desperate to ask Him finally to BE LORD in my life! Now I just follow Him and it's not such a problem. I do miss the mark sometimes, mainly with NOT doing things I should do more of, but it's Jesus' righteousness that will take me to heaven, not my good works. We do good works and be kind BECAUSE we ARE saved; not to get saved! Jesus is the Savior AND the Lord and Master! Then you can sin all you want to, you just won't want to. Then when you yield to your flesh and sin, it's not comfortable or pleasing to you. You would have to be mighty persistent to backslide. Smiling.

the whole point in living on earth is to see who does more good and try not to sin ; those who practice self control and are patient even when they come across obstacles get a lot of rewards now and in the here after. think about everyday life are the polite people who are loved and treated with respect?

It may seem so, but unfortunately, it won't fly.

God is holy, pure, love, and hates SIN.

So all it will take is ONE sin to keep you from entering the Kingdom of God.

I'm sure you've heard that the wages (what you've earned) of sin is death. This means death forever - forever cut off from God and His kingdom. God's Son made that ultimate sacrifice on the behalf of mankind, so that they can have that opportunity of entering His kingdom.

That is the only way that it can happen.

Sinners? Speak for yourself. I'm non-religious w/ strong pagan leanings. I'm not of the Jewish/Christian/Muslim religious persuasions, so I don't believe in this "sin" business. I'm not perfect and I make mistakes. I reap what I sow. I don't believe in eternal hell, but I believe in eternal heaven. Hell is only a temporary thing. Everyone eventually goes to heaven. Just my views on this.

no.
to be able to get into Heaven, the standard is to be perfect. anything less than that is unnacceptable. however, since we ALL sin, none of us would be able to get into Heaven. so Jesus sacrificed Himself to take our place so that we can go to heaven just by accepting His grace.
and all sin is equal in God's eyes. of course, that doesnt mean he supports it, but sin is sin now matter how "big" or "small" it is.
just because you sin less than someone else, doesnt mean you dont sin at all. and it doesnt mean that you're going to be placed on a higher pedestal. sin is sin and no one should do it.

This is what God has to say about men's righteousness.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
