No one has the right to do so.
Not even Human Beings, which is the only species that kills for pleasure.

No, human beings are sometimes cruel and barbaric particularly to animals. I appreciate the need to eat but the practises in Korea and other asian countries of skinning dogs and cats alive sickens me. The milking of bear bile for medicine is cruel in the extreme, as is bear baiting, **** fighting, dog fights and badger baiting. Mans inhumanity to man is also appalling, you have to wonder about people capable of such cruelty. We don't have the right to kill anything for pleasure, and slaughter of animals for food should be done in the most humane and pain-free way possible.

For pleasure, NO. For food, YES. Anyone that could kill any living creature for pleasure is possessed with evil. Period.

Do you mean like deer, elk and creatures like that? If so, I only think they should be allowed to kill one only if they actually need the meat. I hate hunting and the useless slaughter of animals for "trophy" or for simply glotting. I hate those hunting shows!!

no i do not beleive we have that right but since there is no instrument of accountability humans take the right - in arrogance and selfishness.

then again, we (or most of us) eat meat or dairy or buy leather shoes or buy tables and chairs made with newly cut trees....i am guilty completely. alas, is it inevitable??

(sorry to answer your question w a question....such a good one though!)

No! Look at the slaughter in Africa! They kill elephants for the ivory, they kill gorillas, for the hands, to make novelty ash trays.
they kill sharks, for the fins, tiger for the genitals for aphrodesias.
Killing for food is one thing, but wasting life is criminal.

So, you're not including hunting, right, because people eat what they hunt / kill?
Because there is nothing morally wrong with hunting for pleasure if you eat what you kill.
