Salam Greed is only one element of desire.
They can be other things without greed and earn the punishement of hellfire but that is not for any man on the face of this earth to determine their position as such. And not for any of us to judge as such, for each human soul has a heart and they know what they keep in there. They cannot hide from Allah!

You can be anti-a lot of things and still be bound for hell. The only way out of hell is not our morality, but rather accepting the free gift of salvation from the Savior.

Yes. Just as murderers can go to Heaven, people who live for the greater good can go to Hell. The only thing separating them from Heaven is to admit they are sinners, and believing Jesus died for their sins, and asking Jesus to live on inside their heart.
It's really simple. The hard part is realizing that we categorize sins in human terms. We think that we can get to Heaven just by our good works. It's hard to accept, for some, that Jesus already did all of the hard work.

Well yes. That leaves many other sins that have nothing to do with greed. Lying, adultery, and murder come to mind.

an anti-greed serial murderer/rapist who doesnt go to church and supports abortion and gay marriage would probably be bound for hell

yes..it is sin of any kind that leads an unrepentant soul to hell...nothing more....if one does not repent and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior they will not enter heaven.
