It doesn't profit, in fact, it leads you down a pointless path.An illusion, there really isn't any power in an illusion.Your living a lie,but you yourself are not a bad person. You can still seek fulfillment. The only thing it takes,is to gradually let go of the "world"

it doesnt profit anyone to gain the whole world. not trying to bash your current life but you cant take money or women or all of your lavish gifts when you go to heaven. to gain the whole world (figuratively) somewhere along the line a lot of immoral things are going to happen and is having the whole world worth the loss of your soul?

Good question. Honestly, society believes that you are "above" others when you reach a certain social status, which includes money & fame.
But look at the Biblical Heros of all times, i.e. John the Baptist. He wore wild clothes, ate honey & locusts, and basically lived in the wild. He is infamous for his beliefs and selflishness.
This life is for a little time. Heaven is forever.

"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John 6:63
"But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." 1st Tim. 6:6:10

You might want to consider reading the book of Ecclesiastes. It is written by someone who knows both sides of life. The worldly side and the Godly side. It is a contrast between the humanistic side of thinking and the godly way of thinking. It speaks about a man who had all that you have mentioned above and more. In the end it gives you the answer.

Because when you live the way your living now, may be fine for a while, but then you'll get to the point where it just doesn't do it for you anymore. It.'s like trying to fill a bottomles pit, nothing will satisfy you. There is only one thing that truly satifies and that is the Lord.

Actually, that is a question only you can answer.
You will have to decide if the things of the world are more important then losing your soul. And if you don't think it is worth it, then you will have to go to God and ask Him for guidance. If you think it is worth losing your soul over, then that is your choice, and you will be the one who has to deal with the consequences.

you are implying that money, fame, and women make a man soulless. balance your life so you have time for things that enrich your soul as well as your body. Having success doesn't mean losing yourself.......if you lose yourself what's the point? Just try each day to be the best you can be, do the best you can do for yourself and others, and work towards making time for soul enriching things.

Our life is like a blink of the eye compared to eternity in heaven or hell. I use to have so much materially, I was not happy and content. You are really wanting to be filled with the presence of God, but you are filling yourself up with the wrong things. It will never satisfy you. Just call on Him, He will answer and show you the way.

sounds like God wants to change your focus. There is more to life than what is out there to be obtained. I used to be a workaholic and buy my next object of happiness. It ran its coarse and I was empty. Jesus was the only piece to the bottom of my heart that would plug the hole to allow it to fill again with joy and love for the things I used to overlook.
