First, start searching for a job where there is mutual respect between you and your boss. The right thing for him to do would have been to call you into his office and chat with you ALONE, not in front of everyone. It is not healthy to live a life full of stress and it has been proven that constant stress shortens the life span....can result in high blood pressure etc. So, don't tell anyone else you are looking for another job, just do it on your own time. You will be much happier in a low stress environment.
Second, start running or working out. That has been the best stress relief for me for years now. Especially running. Plus it eventually makes your body look amazing. :)

Try to take the "lectures" as constructively as possible even if the boss is a jerk about it. I've been with the same company for 15 years and also am quick to anger. What I do is not react immediately when I'm upset. I give myself time to cool off before allowing myself to respond in any way that may be detrimental to my career. The anger generally fades on it's own over a period of time.

1st - your boss is treating you unprofessionally and his behavior should be reported to HR. His behavior is threatening and hostile. Keep track of these incidents in a journal that you keep with you. Not on your work computer. Note the time, reason, and who witnessed it. And if this happens to other's in the office and you witness it, the same thing. The more proof you have, the harder it will be for this to be brushed under the rug.
2nd - as quickly as you can following one of these scenes - get up and take a walk around the building. Go get something to drink and just take deep clean breaths.
3rd - start looking for a new job.

Walk on your breaks and at lunchtime. The fresh air and walking should help release the anger. I don't know what type of establishment you work at, so I can't really say what you can do inside the worksite to release it...like ripping up paper, trying to rip a phone book, punching something that will not give you any broken bones, etc.

You boss is not a very good boss. I would just walk away whenever they do that to you, but let them know that you are really angered and to control it, you would like to take a walk outside or something.

Just keep telling yourself "I can't believe someone who bleeds red just like me would talk to me that way within arms reach." Then feel sorry for them for not knowing how close they were to a beat down and move on.
