Look at the advice they gave me on my question that I asked. I aksed something about how do I gain more weight, bc I'm like 117 lbs. But I suggest try drinking the ensure drinks. I've done that before, when you drink them regularly you gain weight, they taste awesome!! Like milkshakes!

Take in more than you burn. You sound unhealthily thin, though. You might not care, and that's your business, but it's not very often that someone as tall as you, especially a man, weighs under 130 lbs. Perhaps you have some sort of metabolic disease.

I'd say make sure you exercise, and eat three square meals a day. That usually keeps most people at the right weight and healthy. If your doctor expressed concern, there's probably a reason for that. You should communicate more with your doctor to find out WHY he's concerned.

More weight doesn't equal fatter, either.

To gain a pound a week, you need to increase your daily caloric intake by 500 calories. It's best to do this healthfully by eating more whole grains, poly and mono unsaturated fats, lean proteins and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Also, if you are an active person, make sure you are eating 500 calories above and beyond what you burn in a day. If you are a runner you are burning a HUGE amount of calories a day and you might have to increase your calories by 700 - 1000 calories a day. Just remember to keep the saturated fat and sugars low when you increase calories. You want to make sure you are eating a healthy diet no matter how much you consume.

Did you ask the doctor if this should be a concern? That's actually not an extreme weight loss....a recent illness, a change in exercise....they all can contribute to that amount of weight loss. Add proteins to your diet and maybe some weight lifting to tone and build muscle. You have to evaluate how you feel physically as well. Some people are just naturally slimmer. The most important part of your question is your perception that he was concerned. Call him and ask him..."Were you concerned about my weight loss?" Open the communicative lines and you can learn so much from your doc. I adore mine and ask him everything. Hugs...hope all is well.

Maybe you had a lot off stress? That can make you lose weight. Try to have 3 meals a day. And have something inbetween. Start with a good breakfast, a good lunch and dont eat to much for dinner. It's not good to go to bed with a heavy stomach. Try not to eat after 8.

at 5'11 and 127 lbs you need to gain muscle not fat. that height and weight is extremely low for a woman let alone a man

You certainly sound underweight. The important thing here is to pay attention to your eating habits -- are you eating three times a day, and eating good foods, a good balance of breads, fruits, veggies, and proteins? Do you sleep regular hours, or sleep weird hours and then eat at all times?
