If so, do you ever wonder why?

Honestly, I haven't noticed all that many atheists here; nor would I be at all worried if those that are here are condescending.

No, quite the contrary. I find the postings by Christians and other religious folks condescending in general.

If an aethiest thinks you're living your whole life based on a fairy story, and he tells you so, then he is not being condescending. An aetheist will never tell you "I'll pray for you" or "You'll rot in hell" or "You're conned by the devil".

He may just tell you that it takes more faith to believe that you die when you die than it does to believe there is an almighty father who'll look out for you.

Sounds like you're picking a fight here.

Oh, and by the way, I am an aetheist, and my life is FULL OF JOY! You simply cannot say otherwise, because you would have to invoke your belief that God is joy.

When someone says "oh, atheists bash Christians because they don't have any joy" I say THAT is not only very very incorrect, it is condescending!

Of course not. Everyone is condescending here. Not being condescending in R&S is like going to a Nightclub in the Day.

I find them to be a delight --enlightening, even... Of course, I'm not a Christian, so maybe that has some small effect on my opinion.

I think the atheists feel the same way about the theists. People tend to not enjoy it when someone doesn't agree with their views.

Not most, but a few are. The rest are genuinely friendly and sincere in their questions.

I suppose our usage of facts and common sense can seem "condescending" to a nut who has neither...

No, not condescending.

Maybe conned by the Devil.

Or condemned by God.

But not condescending.
