Here is a beautiful blessing for your new home that I have shared before. All members of the household stand together in the center of the main room in the home and hold hands in a circle. White candles are lit whether it is day or night. The following blessing is said together. After the blessing everyone walks together through the home room by room and back to the main room.
Touch the lintel and touch the wall,
Nothing but blessings here befall!
Bless the candle that stands by itself,
Bless the book on the mantle shelf,
Bless the pillow for the tired head,
Bless the hearth and the light shed.
Friends who tarry here, let them know
A three fold blessing before they go.
Sleep for weariness - peace for sorrow
Faith in yesterday and tomorrow.
Friends who go from here, let them bear
The blessing of hope, wherever they fare.
Lintel and windows, sill and wall,
Nothing but good, this place befall.

A traditional heathen landtaking involves walking the boundary line with fire---candle, torch, lantern, so long as it's a live flame.
Nowadays, I think it good to walk first the property line, then around the outside of the house, then along the inside walls.
Hang iron over every door, bury hatchet/axe heads at the corners of the property facing out, and establish an offering site---hearth mantel if you've a fireplace, above the stove if you don't---on which to place three pennies, a bit of tobacco, and a small cup or shotglass of water.
If you want to go all out, bury a live poisonous snake in a glass or copper jar under the front porch. *G*

The first answer was very lovely!
Take some salt and walk the perimeter of your house twice, so as to not miss any of it. Sprinkle the salt along the foundation and pray quietly while doing so that all evil will be warded away. Think of images of your family sleeping safely inside, or you and any pets, etc.

I have no experience in "blessing" a house, but you can try a sort of banishing ritual (honestly, these are better when improvised), or you could sprinkle consecrated saltwater around the house or the perimeter... whatever floats your boat.

I would just tend to clear the whole house with a sage smudging stick and also go around every room sounding a singing bowl.
