I know I can care for a Sugar Glider, so I can care for just about anything. So please include exotics in your answers, please only give information pets your work with (at least on a weekly basis), I was thinking Chinchilla, Gerbil, Black bear hamster (short coat), maybe a rat, mouse, duprasi, robovorski, and anything you can think of, also Flying squirrels would be very cool, just give me any information on a rodent that would make a great addition to my life. Any one who says do not get a glider has noo chance at a best answer, people don't understand that for a glider to make a good pet you need to get it at or under 8 wks. old, so you can bond with it, they make very good pets if you bond correctly with them. Any information would be great. I have some experience on all of these animals, but I would like your input on which you like and why, and care information. Thanks a lot, also include some other rodents I did not metion for me to research I actually find it fun! Thank you aga

My favorite are mice! They are lots of fun and don't require tons of maintenance. Chinchillas are good pets if you bond with them at a young age. Problem with them is they can live up to 20 years!(maybe that's a good thing?) That's a long commitment for a pet owner. How about some hairless mice or rats? Spiny mice or deer mice? I always wanted a prarie dog! They make great pets. Whatever you decide, make sure you do your homework. Each animal will require special care. I suggest using a rescue for an adoption. Below are some great links for you to look at...Good luck..

you should get a rat, i have one, her name is Clover, she is really smart and very enjoyable to have, im so glad i got her, rats are very social, and rarely bite, they arent very hard to take care of either, they can even be potty trained! if you want a rat who will most likely sit on your lap and not be so adventureous, you would want a male, if you want a more entergenic and lively rat, you woudl want a girl. and caging isnt as complicated as it seems, you can use an old fish tank or buy a cheap plasic box used for storage, make sure it is pretty big tho, so your rat doesnt get bored, get lots of toys so he/she is entertained, and rat pellets and a water bottle for rats, also a room, which can be a wooden rodent room sold at pet stores, or plastic igloos also sold at pet stores, or to be crafty, a big glass jar with a lil rag in it will do. you will need lots of time to make a good companionship with your new ratty, if you dont feel you will have enough time, make sure to get two ratties, but will both be easily tamed as one would. have fun :)
oh and a baby rat is better, they are easily trainable, and easily socialized :)
also, clean the cage once a week, they live about 2-3 years.

guinea pigs is what i think dont matter when you get it it still can bond with you and they are good for 2 years old. i just got a guinea pig that was 1 and a half we are making it good. the cage is easy to clean they dont mind when you hold them and they will wait till you get home. food is cheap and the bedding is to. guinea pigs come in many breeds and they are not fast because they are big. they love to please and be with you. like in the morning i grab one of my pigs and go under my covers with him. sometimes they fall asleep with you. love to be love and will remind you when they need something. i could keep going be it would be to long

MICE MICE MICE MICE!!!!!!!! Mice are the cutest little animals ever. They have such soft furry coats and they are very sociable animals who can be easily trained. A tame mouse can sit in your hand and run up your sleeve. They are very easy to take care of, too. The only downside to mice is that they don't live very long. I recommend that you get at least two mice because they are social animals who like being around their own kind.

They are harder to take care of smell wise hygiene . They are like your baby though. I have a honey bear hamster and he is amazing and so loving like my rat was I've had him for over 2 and a half or 3 yrs now. He licks and knows his name he has pretty honey gold hair thats short and so cute.

The only good rodent is a DEAD rodent. They harbor too much filth and disease.
