10 months old, 70-80 lbs. She's not skinny, but she's not quite the giant that I heard she was going to be.

She is about right. She will continue to grow until she is 18months old. You do not want a large dog to grow to fast, it will damage their joints.

I believe a large breed like a newfie will grow and mature until they are around 3. Even dachshunds mature till they are
2 1/2. A female is going to be alot smaller than the males would be....go on the AKC.org site and see what if anything they have for averages.

Average height for adult dogs is 28 inches, for adult b!tches, 26 inches. Approximate weight of adult dogs ranges from 130 to 150 pounds, adult b!tches from 100 to 120 pounds. The dog's appearance is more massive throughout than the b!tch's. Large size is desirable, but never at the expense of balance, structure, and correct gait. The Newfoundland is slightly longer than tall when measured from the point of shoulder to point of buttocks and from withers to ground. He is a dog of considerable substance which is determined by spring of rib, strong muscle, and heavy bone.

Big dogs like that take about 2 years to reach full size.

10 months and around 70 pounds... that's a big pup!

Give her time. You really dont want her to grow too fast or to be overweight. As long as you cant see her ribs, but when you run your hands down her sides, there is still rib definition, she is fine
