Sounds like your kitty may have a sensitive tummy. There are specialty foods out there that deal with that type of issue. However when changing your pets food you must do it gradually over time. So you will add small amounts of the new food to its old food until it is eating all new food. This should be done over a 10 to 14 day span. Just changing its food all at once could make it's belly problem worse so take the time to do it right. If this doesn't work I would make a vet appointment.

Most cats do have sensitive tummies. There are actually quite a bit of different types of food out there especially the science diet ones....If you change the food, be sure and do it gradually, mixing the foods together to make the transition easy.

If you feed your kitty mostly dry food and then every now and again a can of wet as a treat, that might be part of the issue as well.

When in doubt, ask your vet they're always happy to give advice. :)

Have you changed the type of kitty litter you use? I notice with a different brand of litter my cat brought the litter box smell with him more.

Have you tried letting him eat some wheat grass? That is good for the digestion, not sure if it would help with the gas problem though.

I would also think about a different type of food.

Good luck!

It certainly could be the kitty's food. Look for a food that is mostly meat, with little or no grains, fillers, or by-products.

Be aware that intestinal parasites can cause smelly gas, too. You might take a stool sample to the vet, just to rule it out.

Maybe you should bring him to the vet before altering his diet at all, especially if he's healthy otherwise.
