I asked a question a little bit ago about churches advertising with signs, and this was part of one response:
'What? It's okay for businesses to advertise but not Church's? Everybody has heard the commercial ending with the words "Delta is ready when you are" An airline can have a catch phrase but not a church? Why? Are you belittled or offended by their signs?'
The point is what goal is in mind. If it's too 'attract' people, is it for money/power, or because of an honest concern for their well-being?

Church is more like a scam
A business is the exchange of goods or services for payment.
A church is the exchange of BS for charity.
Actually, a church is kind of like that episode of Law and Order when that retarded teenager that worked at a grocery store got impregnated by her boss because he told her that sex was just part of her job. Didn't see that one? Well, you get the idea, right?

To be honest I think some churches are just in it for the profit. Say for instance I've been to a couple of churches since I've moved to this area and from the time you walk through the door until the time you leave it's all about money, money money. I went to one church and the pastor, or bishop said that he needed to check everyone's account and if he found out you weren't giving ten percent of your check then you will not be a memeber of the church any more. I was floored, maybe it's just me but I think some just advertise and expand to fattenn their pockets and spending habits and not to really teach God's word.
Just my opinion

Today there is little concern for well being of anyone but the church's pocketbook. Another R&S questioner showed two Atlanta area mega-churches requiring a bank and credit report rating as a prerequisite for joining their church.
Teaching from the Bible, a requirement of true Christians, is left far behind as they put money first in their lives.

The best way to “market” a church is to teach God’s Word
verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book because:
Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD,
that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread,
nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
That famine is going on right now. People are starving to hear the real Word of God.

The reason is for peoples eternal well being. Life does not end at death. Everyone has eternal life. This is definite. The only question is "where are you going to spend eternity??"
Things that make you go Hmmm.
NOTE: This is not an opinion. When hundreds of people have had near death experiences, and in those hundreds of experiences 1 of 2 things have happened. The first being that they have come to a place where there is a complete sense of peace and love and caring. The second experience is one of torment and torture and the sensation of burning. These reports are from people who died and then were brought back to life. All theses reports given to medical doctors who reported hearing their patients scream in terror that they were on fire. People with such detailed statement. A pastor, clinically dead and in the morgue for 3 days and then rising back to life after meeting Jesus.
As I stated. Everyone has eternal life, Where will you spend it?? The choice is up to each of us individually.

No, I'd consider it more like a home (church home).
A business buys and sells and collects taxes. Churches usually do not. I like the little funny signs in church yards
like: "Get Your Faith Lifted Here". Isn't that cute? And it
should also be the truth.

some are affiliated with the government and get grants for keeping tabs on people and preaching gospels that dont interfere with or go against the government ..fbi agents are even know to visit the churches to monitor sermons. These churches are the 501c3 non profit churches that have for the most shaken hands with the very organization that wants to see its demise...and bring the NWO into effect.

Many pastors admit that although they start off with good intentions, it ends up being like any other business, because churches are subject to the same market forces as anything else.

A Church may not just be a business, but it must be a profitable business if it is remain open. You can't keep the bills paid with faith or pay you employees with love.
