"Believe what I believe or you'll be sorry" was the motto for the crusades and the inquisition. Those people had the exact same mindset as today's fundamentalists, only they were able to physically force it on others. You can rest assured that if given enough sway on the world stage, fundamentalists would have us on a church pew or on the rack. Of course, it won't happen because they've peaked and their backwards beliefs are going the way of the Greek gods.

People have tried to get Christianity out of here ever science it began. They have never tried it just listen to someone tell them that it isn't true. If the blind follow the blind they both fall in the ditch. Make sure that you follow someone that is not blind. Kind of like someone you don't like you look for everything that you can find to make them look worse that you. If he stands up well he almost fell, if he walks he makes to much noise, if he talks he does not know what he is talking about oh you get the idea. I tell you this there is a heaven if we don't ask God into our heart there is a hell also each person has to make up his or her mind where they want to spend eternity. God bless

If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is an intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time.
The reason organized religion merits outright hostility is that, unlike belief in the teapot, religion is powerful, influential, tax-exempt and systematically passed on to children too young to defend themselves. Children are not compelled to spend their formative years memorizing loony books about teapots. Government-subsidized schools don't exclude children whose parents prefer the wrong shape of teapot. Teapot-believers don't stone teapot-unbelievers, teapot-apostates, teapot-heretics and teapot-blasphemers to death. Mothers don't warn their sons off marrying teapot-shiksas whose parents believe in three teapots rather than one. People who put the milk in first don't kneecap those who put the tea in first.

Heh, great analogy. Yes, it's exactly like that because they're trying to elicit obedience through fear, just like a parent talking to an unruly child. Another way of putting it would be "Just wait till your father gets home!", meaning that we'll be very sorry on the Judgement Day.

Kind of, yes... It does seem like many Christians have volunteered to be parents for everyone. But fear does tend to cause people to want as much control as they can get....

Yeah both are equally a waste of breath.
A nice whack on the head works fine...who cares how many cars you hit while doing it...at least the kids are in line.
Hmm this also follows some of the Christian tactics.

No, getting your butt whipped is very different than spending an eternity in hell... So actually Christians are much more frightening, and you cannot call child welfare on them for filling your head with nonsense.
