My hair is so messy! what should I do with it?

How should I put it up? Could you give me some tips? I'm going to prom on monday & I need to know how to put up my hair.

We kind of need to know how long it is and your face shape - do you have a photo? You can use combs and cover them with the ends of the hair if you have longer hair. Be sure you have a good hair curler (or borrow one) and experiment with some styling gel or other holding product before the prom. You are cutting it close - you might need to just get is done for you at a salon and watch what they do or make an appointment just before the prom but you will need to bring a photo of the look you want. They have pictures of the dress-up looks in the salon, usually - bring a picture of the dress as well, for the best advice from them.

You can perhaps get a trim from a hairdresser, but msot of the time when my hair is messy I just put it up in a bun and leave it. But, for a prom, you can straighten your hair, or just take a shower the night before and leave your hair in braids while you sleep and as the hair drys up, it's a great way to naturally crimp your hair a way that looks real.

If your hair is that bad, the best solution is to get to a hairdresser and have it tidied up. It's a bit late for that now though.

thick hair:::: wash it , and while its damp but NOT soaking wet, flip your head upside down and scrunch it with mousse (tresseme or herbal essences works great) , making sure you dont put too much mousse in the front of your hair because it will end up looking like plastic., so start in the back.
now,, i put two handfuls of mousse in, only b/c i have 928349283498294892 hairs.
but you'll just need about a handful. the less hair,the less mousse.

thin hair::: straighten , and flip the ends out (if you can) and put a "poof" in. cross the bobby pins, it holds it better and looks cute. :]

Get a new style. You can go to a salon and get a cheap 10-15 dollar cut and it will look great! or just cut it yourself that s what i do and so many people love my hair! oh and if your going to prom leave your hair down! it prettier that way!

Try going to a Salon and have them do your hair for you. Or get an opinion from your family or friends. A high bun with pretty clips always works.

You could put it up in a tight neat bun - that would work.

I think you should First wash your hair, blow dry it, put on some hair protectant lotion/spray, then straighten your hair & then put it in a nice bun.

Also you could also tease your hair.

Ok here is what you do..... Take your left hand and grab the back of your hair. Now take your right hand and hang on the front of your hair. Then twist, twist, twist and you will have the beautiful put up hair you've always wanted.

Your in luck, messy is the style right now, use it to your advantage! Pull most of it back out of your face so that you aren't annoyed all night and so your are pulling the attention to your face, not your hair. This style shows how you can use the mess to your advantage.
