It's something that takes time and it depends on how close you were to this family member. When my grandmother died, I didn't think I would cry at the funeral, but when I kissed her and her body was ice cold, I broke down in tears. She was a strong woman and got sick very fast.
It was sad for a while, but we all had each other to talk to.*(family) And it REALLY HELPS to talk about it.

I have lost both of my parents, but I am 56 and they were each 73 when they died. Fortunately they lead good lives and were married 50+ years. I don't know how it is to lose a sibling, but I nearly did in September as my brother needed a quadruple by-pass on his ailing heart. I can only say if you know someone close is dying, try to write them a farewell letter telling them how much you have learned from them and how much they will be missed, before he or she passes away. I was fortunate to do so for both of my parents, and it helped me to express my feelings before it was too late. It was mutually satisfying and well received.

well you hope that they are in Heaven and focus on that. They are truly in a better place than earth now. Each day that passes it gets because you always have their memory and always focus on things that they have acheived and good things they have done. Don't mourn their death but more or less be happy for them they are rejoicing with the angels and they are actually waiting for us to get there. I promise each day gets a little better. You will always be sad for them it is just a part of our human nature but it does get better. I lost my stepbrother a year ago and yes I still feel bad but it isn't so bad now that it hasn't just happened. Yes it sucks he was only 31 at the time of his death. It is really hard to go through but it does get better life goes on and tommorrow is a new day one less family member but life does go on. He isn't dead as long he is in my mind. If I keep him in my mind he is actually right here just as if he wasn't dead. But also try to forget them too like out of sight out of mind.. It isn't so hard to deal with if you sort of put them out of your mind for a while just to relieve some of the stress of them being gone. I know its a long answer but I hope it helps you

What do you mean? Like, one of your relatives died, or the relative of a friend died and you want to know how to help them?
