a pentacostal denomination? Or are we just a bunch of happy worshipers with some daring to take it to the next level?

i believe the actual statistic is like 48 %. my pastor spoke on it recently and it is pretty shocking...why do we seem to be losing our belief in the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues? (I'm refering to Church of God by the way)

to man of arms: i totally agree with you and am not being biased towards pentacostals...i just wanted a discussion starter (which evidently has happened). pentacost means "baptising of Holy Spirit" so it makes no sense to me that people who don't have that would call themselves pentacostals...

I have never seen such a statistic. I am shocked!!!!!!!!!! However, I do believe it, these are the last days. Hallelujah! But that does make me wonder too.

I dont know the statistic on how many actually have the baptism of the Holy Spirit ,but I would say that whether pentacostal or not is not what should concern you .But what should be the focus is are we pleasing God .The word says that we will come unto the unity of the faith so denominations soon will fade. I don't mean to be rude and I do want to answer the question that you asked .So yes we are still pentalcostal. And for "suzi" yes we that are saved do have the Spirit of God not not all of us have the Baptism of the Holy Ghost .There is a difference. When we have the Baptism there is an evidence that comes along with it and each time the baptism of the Holy Spirit is mentioned in the book of Acts they were filled with the Spirit and also spoke with tongues or prophesy. Do you remember when Paul said that some would have a form of Godlyness but deny the Power .Maybe that is what you are seeing.Best Wishes>>

You receive it all the hour you get saved. The Holy Ghost IS Jesus. The rest is growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ.By-the-way when Jesus writes your name down in the book of life,it's there to
stay.I have never read in the scriptures of him
having an eraser on his pencil.

Who knows. The pentecostal movement is still new (less than 100 years old). They had no system of theology for nearly 70 years. Bottom line......they don't even know what they believe.
And thats a fact!

You are a PERFECT example of the "denimoniation," and I'm sure you will be happy after your "babtism." I couldn't have made the point better if I'd tried.

Different expressions are ok - we don't have to all be Pentecostal.
