You should first use a pen or pencil to guide you when you read the words, then go faster and faster then without the guide and you'll be fine :) Try to get the main ideas. Usually a whole passage can be summed up by the first two sentences and the last two sentences. Finally, read alot, read everything and anything. But speed means nothing unless you understand so make sure that you can answer some questions that you may have. For example, what is the main idea, who is the author talking about, etc.

There is software you can buy, not too expensive called EYE Q, its kinda like a game where you go through exercises and it really does help with speed reading. I didn't even use it that much and I have noticed a big increase in my reading speed, so someone that uses it often I can only imagine how well it would work, Good Luck!

I saw on TV once a computer game where you watch everything that appeared, and it helped not only kids btu adults also. So I guess you could try something like that.
