I used to be able to run for a long time without any problem. Months ago however, I had an injury to my knee and had surgery on it, leaving me to not running for a while. I began running recently and for some reason I cant run without being extremely tired and the front of my bottom legs get cramped. Anyone know what I could do about this?

Ease back into running SLOWLY. Start slow. With just two miles a day. Then g;et up to 3 or 4 a day. That is how I started.

Sounds like you've developed shin splints. The way to correct Shin splints is to strengthen the muscles at the front of the legs. Lie face down in bed with your toes hanging over the edge. Pull your toes upward against the resistance of the mattress. Try to work up to 3 or 4 sets of 5 – 10 reps each.

As for the tiredness, don't sweat it. It takes a while to regain your fitness level. Just don't push it and take your time.

Good Luck

I also agree^^
Just practice everyday and soon you'll notice you've gotten better. Start with a pace you can keep and keep on going like that sort of like jogging a mile then next time jog faster and faster and faster etc.

I agree with the guy above me. Also if you start feeling pain just push through it. Running is mostly mental.

i would say just to slowly get back to your normal pace. start slow and short distances and build up your leg muscles as you go.
