I just got my wisdom teeth pulled and they caused a ton of overcrowding in the front of mouth and i have a lot of gaps in my teeth when i smile. I guess its partly because I never really took care of my teeth when i had braces years ago (barely wore retainer/rubber bands etc..) and I didnt get the wisdom teeth taken out immediately.

I know that teeth cannot shift without some help, so besides braces are their any other cheaper alternatives to straighten my teeth? I am 22 and don't want to have metal in my mouth like a teenager. Any suggestions along with price range would be very valuable. Thank you.

Hi I am 24 and I got my braces on at 22 and it really wasnt that bad. They were really overcrowded and that was my only option. You could see an orthodontist and maybe you are a candidate for invisaligns if you really dont want the metal ones. I got my top braces off in May and they put in a permanent retainer on the back of my teeth so that they cannot ever move. Metal braces are the best way to go.

First, you're still real young. Only 22. I think you see more and more people who are unhappy with their teeth getting them fixed.

As for braces, you can get the ceramic ones which aren't as ugly as the metal ones. I think they're a little more expensive though.

I'm going to do Invisalign. I start that in a month. My cost for that is $3400 for top and bottom teeth. Invisalign will range anywhere between 3-6 grand, depending on how bad your teeth are to start, how long your treatment is, and where you live. I'm happy with the price. My teeth are pretty crooked too, so we'll see how it goes. And not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign. You need to talk to an orthodontist about it. I don't have any real big gaps in my teeth, I just need them to line up better. The good thing about Invisalign is you get those trays, you have to wear them all the time, but you can take them out to eat and brush your teeth. But, it's up to you to do it. And you only need to visit the orthdontist every 6 weeks which is nice.
