My 18 year old FEMALE cousin is dating a 15 year old girl in high school. Am I the only one that finds something wrong with this? The girl she's dating wants to keep it a secret and my cousin told the entire family about it. I met her girlfried and observed how they act together. They both behave like 12 year olds when they're together and run around the house chasing each other. I have no problem with my cousin being a lesbian but she's dating a child! And my cousin claims that they're going to be together forever and get married and blah blah blah...and they've been together for four months. Everytime I try to talk to my cousin about this she says, "You're just jealous." I have to seriously control myself from saying, "JEALOUS!? You're embarrassing me by bringing her over here and you're behaving like a CHILD!" What can I do to mak her grow the hell up? She's living in this fantasy world and acting extremely immature.

My cousin and I are roommates, we have our own house together. It's not just the fact that she's dating someone younger it's also because she is slacking off. She's missing work and not cleaning up after herself. I have to work 16 hours a day and 5 days a week to afford bills because she's only working 24 hours a week since she started dating this girl. And I'm not jealous...she said that because I'm not dating anyone and she thinks I just want a relationship. I'm content with being single and I don't have time to date anyway. Not while working double shifts and cleaning the house constantly. And the family disaproves...except for her mother who is currently in prison for drugs so I really don't count her opinion.

And I just turned 20 years old...my cousin will be 19 in a few weeks and her girlfriend turned 15 in August.

That's illegal in most states. She better be careful or she may get arrested. Maybe if you report her, her bubble will burst.
Although, I'd hate to be responsible for having a relative thrown in jail.

Who's home are they doing the running around in, is it yours, and how old are you. If you're living in your parents home, and they allow this then all you can do is voice your opinion.
Then on the other hand if it's your house you have every right not to condone their actions by not letting them come over.
I wonder would this bother you as much if your cousin was a male. I never heard about the Romeo and Juliet laws until today, and if that applies in your state, at least everyone won't get arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor or statutory rape! By the way, are you jealous, only you can answer that question(smile)!

Wow, maybe get the 15 yr olds parents involved. Too many kids are lacking parental supervision/involvement these days. Besides turning your Adult cousin into the authorities, which I'd hate to see you do, as you'd probably hate to event think about at this point, no being a lesbian is not the problem, it's one being of legal age, and the other only being 15. Best of luck to you. Hopfully getting parents involved will help resolve this potentially damaging situation from turning worse.

You know what you tell her if she really care about this girl she can back up and let this girl turn 18 to . she is enterferring with this teens growth I mean I would feel the same way if it was a guy dating a 15 year old and she is no exception to the law.

WOW! you got a problem. If you have a problem with her, then tell her to leave. After she finds the difficulty to live on her own she will relize that she can't act, and live like a child no more. SHe is 18! lol Tell her to pull herself togethr, and get angry at her. One thing you can try is to act like a 12 year old your self, and I don;t mean jump around on sofas, and jump around. I mean stop coolking, cleaning, all that stuff. When she asks you why you stop all that tell her your just jealous, or something like that!

She may be committing a felony if she is having sex with her girlfriend. The age of consent is 16 in most states. She could find herself locked up for a long time and then have to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life. You might want to remind her of that!

When she's 35 and she's 32 it would be okay, but since shes 18 it's concidered incest....just call her a petiphile! If that doesn't work, date the 15 year olds best friend...

When I was 15 I was dating an 18 year old (male). This is a common age spread. Of course, it probably won't last.
Most states have Romeo and Juliet laws - where two people who are in their teens and within 3 or 4 years of age can legally consent to sex. (i.e., 19 and 16 years old).

i dont know i mean the age gap isnt that bad and you know how love can be. you wont be able to stop true love but since its your house basically you can stop her from bringing her over. or, you tell your cousin that since she is older, she needs to be a mentor for her young lover and that if she really love this girl then she will be a good example and not slack off and show her that she needs to do well in school and be mature at times and things like that. good luck!!

Don't hold back. Give it to her straight next time she says that you're jealous. idc either about lesbians but if she's acting different than before she was dating the other girl, then there is going to be a life long consequence if she stays in her relationship.
