....quality miracles like sea parting, world-wide floods, pillars of salt, talking animals, people to stone, and immaculate conceptions? I don't see why the fundies want to worship such an impotent "god", one that only had power in The Big Story Book.

The Bible is not a truthful text at all. If anything it just a collection of old stories - some of which may be based on some truth. I am doubtful if many will stand up to a truth test. A few may, though..
We have not seen clear examples of God being present, since biblical times - and so, why should God show up at all? Now? He's been absent for 1500 or more years...
Oh, people today claiming they speak to God and get answers, etc - are of course delusional. They cannot show to others, they are talking to God, etc etc.
A few examples - may just be 'staged' to keep the legend alive...

Why would you spell God with a small g? Why do you show such disrespect to Him? God is not powerless as you allege. He is still the same yesterday, today, and forever. He cannot change. He is still performing miracles today. I personally have seen Him make arms and legs grow longer, when one is shorter than the other. Every child that is born is a miracle.

because he did not. He purely created the guy with the capacity for free theory and free decision. he did not administration or create our personalities as then shall we haven't any independence or free decision. for this reason in the international we are given the alternative to act and advance how we favor. If we were no longer then there must be no factor to heaven or hell because it doesn't be because of our own movements yet how God made us that we ended up there. heaven and hell are a reward or punishment for our behaviour-or perhaps on the end we are given free decision to repent. So God did not create egocentric human beings as their personalities and movements are literally not of his doing.

I guess it's because people can pretty much manage lots of those things on their own. I mean, yeah, we're still on a small scale, but we'll get there ;-)

Those were extraordinary circumstances.

God does still perform miracles. I've seen many, and heard of many others.
