In each creek, which the salmon is born, a trace element that is specific to that creek only ( like a smell) is embedded into the salmon. They move from the fresh water down to the ocean for several years where they feed and grow. At a certain time in their life, as maturity occurs, they longinly seek to return to the orginal of thier birth to reproduce. After they reproduce, they die and this is the beginning of a whole new cycle of life which starts over again.
