Almost any of the suburbs can be good. I live in South Aurora. I think if you go east or south it's okay. Northglenn, Thornton, Golden, Highlands Ranch are all good.
It can start snowing in Denver anytime from September on. So far, we've only had 1 snow. Snow here last about a day(unless it's a blizzard, like we had 2 of last year). It is so sunny that usually the snow is gone the next day.
Lots to do here. I love it.

A good part of town for a family is Highlands Ranch. It was very popular in the late 90's to early 00's when it was being built. Now it is fairly well developed. The schools are excellent, there are great restaurants and shopping. You also won't find as much rifraff as you would in parts of Aurora or the city of Denver. It is very important to consider what part of town you will be spending most of your time in as well. Denver is a spread out, sprawling city, so you will want to try to live somewhere in the vicinity of your place of employment; otherwise, a 45+ minute commute would not be surprising.

It can snow in most months. I believe snow has been recorded in every month except July. But for the most part, the snow in Denver is short-lived. It may snow overnight, but the sun comes out the next day and melts it away. (It's not always a well known fact by non residents that Denver has 300 days of sunshine a year.)

Highlands is definetely a gentle persons community because the guy above states. The highlands does have multiple adolescents living thehre notwithstanding that is likewise very city.... you would favor to study that out, also look at Lakewood. Lakewood is an somewhat tremendous suburb (about a million million) straight away west of denver. in case you intend on starting up a relatives or favor you've a quiter community then i ought to point Lakewood. Its a stones throw from downtown Denver. i do not extremely like all different tremendous jap suburb (Aurora) yet thats basically me as lots of the southern parts of Aurora will be wonderful.

Be aware that some parts of the suburbs are trashier than the city itself. The cost of living in town is high enough in places to keep it fairly nice, and some of the suburbs are definitely sketchy. Do your research before you move.
