I think they kind of contradict each other somehow. If there is "gay christian", can they have gay relationships and have gay sex? Or would the church be against it? (please don't quote the bible, or quote something from another site)

Does that mean a gay guy can never be a true christian?

Which of the following is more of a Christian?...

Someone who loves a person of the same sex and is kind to everyone and helps out when ever possible or...

Someone who is heterosexual and loves nothing better than a weekend spent fighting, mugging and generally doing bad stuff?

I class myself as a Christian, I believe in God (although I don't believe you have to be in a special building to talk to Him - so its very rare that I attend church)

I am a heterosexual woman, married with two young sons and it always bugs the life out of me when people look at a gay couple and see nothing but sex!! Love is love, so long as no one is hurting anyone...this world could do with more of it.

Gay sex, straight sex, what does it matter? So long as its between two CONSENTING ADULTS who are not involved with anyone else so no one is getting hurt.

If you are a good, decent, kind & loving person then what does it matter?

Of course!

Becoming a Christian isn't a destination, it is the starting place for a journey toward the ultimate goal of reaching God's kingdom. The grace of God, poured out on the whole world through Jesus, is sufficient to cover ALL sins.

The decision to follow Christ (the very definition of the term "Christian") doesn't mystically transform a person into someone who is perfect. Any person that claims that becoming a Christian suddenly caused them to stop sinning is a liar...and that's a sin! Being a Christian is a daily struggle between the desires of the flesh and the desires of the spirit.

I don't believe it is possible for a Christian to be comfortable with his or her sexual immorality...if they are truly seeking to follow the will of God, he will convict them about the sins that are keeping them from having the kind of relationship he wants with them. However, if committing a sin, any sin, including homosexuality is enough to say someone isn't a Christian, then I would argue that there is no such thing as a Christian...I've certainly never met someone who can completely and consistently avoid mistakes!

Yes, there are whole gay churches. My dad visited one in America, even in the 70s. And in my town, there's a church that has a social club/support group for gay students (because it's not the easiest town to be gay in). I don't know about gay relationships. There are clear injunctions against it in the bible, but there are also lots of things from the bible that we don't think we need to do any more. The main thing is, I don't understand why God would give someone desires that they were not allowed to fulfil at all. I read somewhere that what was actually condemned in the bible was male rape, not just gay sex. I'm not sure about it, but I think that ultimately it's between the individual and God, and not for me to decide. I have gay friends, and if they wanted to come to church with me, I'd be delighted.

All couples sometimes combat and disagree with one yet another. Your mom and your aunt - who do doubt have executed an analogous with the adult men of their lives are attempting to make your brother think of that such disagreements are because of the fact he's gay so as that he will attempt to "turn right this moment" - which of path does not paintings. the assumption of a gay existence style did no longer come out of the media. It got here out of the extremists in the the final option wing non secular community. that's based in the thought homosexuality is a planned "determination" made by utilising "rebellious" human beings so as that they are able to be diverse or maybe though. that's a ludicrous concept and entirely fake. there is not any such element as a gay existence style. As you suspected, gay human beings stay in all techniques and for the period of all demographics, comparable to right this moment human beings. sort strategies, Hermes

Even if one believes homosexual activity to be a sin, a Christian could still be gay because Christians are still sinners, even according to themselves.

This has been a big issue for me and it is one reason i left the Church. If a gay romantic relationship with sex, i.e. the expression of that love, is wrong, then love is wrong and Christianity is supposed to be based on love. There are churches which accept and celebrate gay relationships. However, these churches are going against Scripture and have to interpret the Bible in such a way that they are only nominally Christian. For instance, many people in such churches do not believe in the virgin birth or the resurrection, so they cannot believe in atonement either. On the other hand, churches which are against homosexuality also tend to be very narrow-minded in their interpretation of Scripture, and are sometimes full of materialist rich people who i find it hard to believe really live the message of poverty and charity that Christ preached. Not all churches which are against homosexuality are like this though, for instance many are very charitable and caring too.

I cannot believe homosexual love is wrong, but equally i cannot believe that churches which accept homosexual relationships are truly Christian, and i know that God's power through Christ is real and miraculous. It's all a mess. I don't know what to think.

No, there is no such thing as a gay Christian. But you won't let me quote from the Bible or anywhere else, so I'll leave it at that.

why would a just God allow homosexuality if it was wrong? at least 20% of the population is known to be gay. Does god hate 20% of the people? What kind of god is that? I think this is just a rule by men. similar to the rules in the bible about not eating pork.

A Christian is a follower of Christ, so yes, it is possible.

I know that Paul, Solomon, and several prophets spoke against homosexuality; however, I've never been able to find a scripture where Jesus condemns it. If we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, wouldn't He have warned against this? Also, the growing pile of scientific evidence that there is something different in the brains of homosexuals, gives me pause. If there is actually a physiological element to homosexuality, would God condemn homosexuals? That is like condemning a woman for having a uterus.

Of course, there is always the abstinence option, but that is, indeed, a very tough road to travel. I do it (I'm heterosexual), but I can understand someone who can't. Even so, I can't stop the sexual thoughts that enter my brain at times....and Jesus called this a sin of equal proportions to the actual act.

Ultimately, pondering questions like this one is not our job. God is the judge. Let Him do His job, and let us pray and worship.

Be blessed.

Yes. Absolutely.
There are also Christian liars, Christian adulterers, Christian alcoholics . . .
Christians still sin. If they ask God for forgiveness, He forgives them. Hopefully they try to change their ways and stop sinning.
Regarding "gay" - Even if being homosexual is a genetic trait, one does not have sin sexually. Most people won't even believe this, but there are people who just don't have sex. (I mean besides married people.)

there are Christians that still struggle with all types of sin, even homosexualuality. God is against sin because it destroys us and our relationship with Him. Because someone is gay does not mean that God does not love them and is not working in their life to see them set free. We are all on the road to perfectiion, some of us are a little more hard headed than others and may take a little longer to get there.
