Probably doesn't taste good, *will be* messy.
You can broil them . . . top with seasoned, buttered bread crumbs and broil until crumbs toasted. The tomato should just be heated, not cooked long.

Yes you can but even more delicious is to cut the tomatoes (at leaste 10) in half, place each cut side up in a glass baking dish and sprinkle on each half the following: olive oil, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic POWDER,(not salt) and a hefty amount of grated Parmesan cheese. Now bake in a 350 degrees oven for 30 minutes. These are so delicious you won't believe it. My grandmother from Italy used to do this and there never seemed to be enough!!!

Fried Tomatoes
Butter-flavored vegetable cooking spray
Four medium green, or red, tomatoes, sliced 1/4-inch thick
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper, to taste

Yes, it goes really good with English Breakfast or any other hearty morning meal.
I like mine with Polish blood sausage and potatoes.
