Jimmie Johnson has won nine races. That guy "swoops"! I always ranked him equal to Tony Stewart, but Jimmie is hott! Everyone is giving Jimmie Johnson the thumbs down. People always hate the winner. Don't you want the best driver to win?

Definitely not. It's a great thing when talent and ability can outshine and over come some of the hurdles Jimmie has had this season and still be on top when all is said and done. Have liked Jimmie since his arrival in Nascar. He is a respectful clean driver with an enormous amount of talent and ability that has been dim shadowed by the fact that Gordon owns his car and his well meaning crew chiefs actions.

Yes Fluffy we want the most qualified driver to win the championship - - - but it's not Johnson or Gordon when it comes to their arrogant, "holier than thou" attitudes. They are NOT better than any other driver out on the track. The only reason that they are winning is the fact that they are cheating big time and/ or their boss is paying of the NASCAR officials a ton of money to buy himself a championship. But don't be shocked - - - all of sports are guilty of the same thing - - CHEATING.

As an example, Johnson said he doesn't know anything about the working of his car - - - then you have "Fatback" McSwain saying that "Of course the driver knows what's going on with the car, they have to adjust it to his liking." I may have been born at night - - but I wasn't born last night - - just how STUPID do they think the fans are, anyway ???

To answer your question about the best driver winning - - - you were right about the fact that it should be Tony "Smoke" Stewart ! ! ! He can drive the wheels off of any car on the planet - - he's just another driver with a TON OF BAD LUCK this season.

Stepping down off of my soap box now.

Yes Jimmy is on a hot streak, but if the old points system was in place he would still be over 400 points back from Jeff Gordon. I hate the new chase format it just gives the media something to talk about the last few races.

Upset?? Heck hes rising to the forefront when he really needs to. The ones that are upset right not are not Jimmie fans or even Hendrick fans. Hes the only driver over the past two seasons to win more than 10 races and he has a chance to hit 15 before the end of 2007. Im not upset... Im elated!! GO JIMMIE!! It's kinda fun when a team goes on a streak. There are a few drivers that have had 10 win seasons like Rusty Wallace, Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon, and Jimmie Johnson. It's pretty tough to stay on top on the Cup circuit, so it's fun to watch someone have a great season.

Jimmy Johnson is a class guy in a class organization, a good clean driver who rarely makes mistakes. No, it doesn't upset me at all, I wish him the best. He deserves the success.

How many people know he donated all his winnings from the race in Atlanta to the folks who lost everything in the Southern California fires? Lowe's said they would match it, and I think Atlanta Motor Speedway did also.

I wouldn't be disappointed if he repeats as the Nextel Cup Champion, I just think Jeff Gordon is going to win it.

Should people be upset that he earned his fame and fortune? Only if they are jealous. Jimmie is a talented and well rounded driver that deserves all he has accomplished. I am not his biggest fan but he drives clean and races smart. Week after week you see him laying back and saving his stuff for the end of the race and meanwhile other drivers are blowing theirs up. I honestly think he is this year's champ patiently awaiting his prize.

As much as I;d liek to see Gordon get 8 cups before it's over, I can't be upset about Jimmie's success. Nobody handed him his 2006 Cup, and if he gets it this year, he fought off the best driver of today to do it.
What would upset me is to see a great driver get cut off at the knees by bad equipment or by bad luck.
