God is called a he, because women had 0 respect in those days and were seen property.
also .... how can jesus be god ??
that is an impossible question.
God created MAN, and therefore created jesus, its like the comment.... the chicken or the egg, which came first.
no way did jesus create himself as being the all and mighty god. he is just a self proclaimed prophet who sacrificed himself for what he felt was right, and furthermore christianity was created after his death and he was persecuted for his betrayal of the jewish people.

It's a flaw of patriarchal language, not enough pronouns. If we called "God" "it", people would accuse us of being disrespectful, even though it is the most appropriate form, because such a word is reserved for inanimate objects. Some people DO use "she" (especially when referring to the "Holy Spirit") but the predominant culture can't accept that, since males are accorded the greater status. About the only solution is to coin a new pronoun specifically for deities. (Good luck with that.)
Other languages are not so specific, and their genders do not always correspond directly with the sexes. (In German. the same third person pronoun is used for everything.)

Because our language is not sufficient to define or even describe God, and people had to have some metaphor for understanding God. If the metaphor were "Our Mother' instead of "Our Father" it would be just as sexist. There are many references to God as having feminine characteristics in the Bible, but most male preachers don't like to mention them, and those who don't respect the Bible wouldn't care, I guess. Since male and female are both created in God's image, that means all that makes us either masculine or feminine is a reflection of our Creator, (who is above such labels).

Well first of all, God is a "he" because Jesus Christ is God and He is a male. Jesus Christ came to earth as a MAN and went back to Heaven as a man and is still a man so it's very appropriate to refer to God as "He."
Secondly, we call God Father because Jesus did. It's very simple. We just follow His example. No reason to ask questions because of some pre-determined gender sensitivity that you have. If it was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me.
You're letting something bother you that shouldn't and you're making more of it than you should.
As to the Holy Ghost, the third person of the Trinity, there is no traditional pronoun preferred. A lot of people routinely use He because they use it for both God and Jesus, too, so it's just easier and more uniform.
However, "It" is always inappropriate because God is not an inanimate object.

When Jesus gave his followers the Model Prayer in Matthew chapter 6, he instructed them to begin prayers with "Our Father", indicating that they would be speaking to a male.
God clearly has a personality, which he reveals through the Bible.

2 reasons.
1. Most primitive languages like Hebrew, Latin and Greek had only masculine and female nouns. The had no neutral tense.
You still see this in the Romance languages.
2. The religion was created by a bunch of misogynistic dictators who regarded women strictly as property to be bought and sold without even the right to speak for themselves. Who would make a woman into a Goddess except for the decadent Greek, Egyptian or other paganisms destroyed by the patriarchal religions like Judaism, Christianity or Islam.

Let us create man in our image. God talking to the angles before He created Adam.
Eve, on the other hand, was created from Adam's "curve", not "rib". Man has all of his ribs. That “curve”, in my opinion, is the helix, if I’ve spelled it right, curve. God took feminine DNA from Adam and created Eve, one of His greatest creations, I think..

if he is his own son and his own father then he is a HE isnt he? But really I see your point. I think they say God is a he so Christians can better identify with him.
