If you post bond, it's usually like...10% of what the judge sets. So...if your bond is $500, YOU pay $50 (which is paid by a bail bondsman). Now, this is a promise that you will show up to court. If you don't...you owe the rest, which the bail bondsman has to pay. He/she will be very interested in your whereabouts...and you'll have a warrent for your arrest. The bounty hunter finds you...returns you to the police and collects a reward, which would be a percentage of the bond.

When a criminal jumps bail, the bonsman is out the money that he put up to secure his presence at the trial. So now the fugitive is now rightfull owned by the bondsman, body and soul, therefore the bondsman hires a bountry hunter to track down the fugitive and bring him back for trial. The bondman pays the bounty hunter a percentage of the bond that he put up.

they get a % of the bound amount.
if thier bail is say 100000 then their bond is usually about 10000 when the bounty hunter catches them they recieve like 10% of the bond which would be 1000 paid by the person who bailed the criminal out. this is just an example I'm not sure of the actual %

Theres always a reward for bringing a culprit. Once you're a certified bounty hunter, you will receive a list of wanted persons along with their bounty. Trust me, they wouldn't be putting their lives on the line for nothing.

The bail bond company pays them. They may also collect a reward, if any has been offered. If you caught bin Laden you'd collect a cool $50 million (I don't know if it's taxed).

It seems they can start as alcoholics and white trash who father 11 kids, and go deadbeat on 8 or so.

Then their probation officer recommends bounty hunting as tehir meal ticket. They cross the border to catch a multimillionaire rapist, get busted themselves, people feel sorry, give them a TV show and they lose it all when they admit they didn't know that the correct term to call people from Nigeria is NIGERIANS, mixing in the infamous, bigotric "N" expletive instead...

Bounty Hunters get criminals, spies, assasins, etc. and trade them for money. It's like a human hunting.
