I've never heard about a forbidden apple of knowledge but if such a thing exists, then yes, I think it would make a monkey quite smart.
Now if you're talking about the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil mentioned in the bible, then I suspect it would make the monkey as stupid and fearful as it did Adam and Eve. ...and no, it wouldn't automatically enjoy being spanked...in fact, it would most likely fear spanking...and if by some quirk of personality, it actually liked being spanked, it would probably carry around a huge load of guilt over that feeling. ...again, not a whole lot different than the way humans react to the knowledge of good and evil!

No, it does not have a soul. The forbidden fruit opened the eyes to sin, animals cannot sin. We are a special creature with a soul.
