Wassail usually has orange, pineapple, lemon and/or cranberry juice, and apple juice. Spiced cider doesn't have any of the other fruit juices and it's made from apple cider, not apple juice.

Apple juice is the same as Apple cider.
Just read the label.
It is a marketing ploy. When you crush apples you get a pulpy juice - the same for oranges. If it is filtered, then you have apple juice.
But, distributors often use the additional label of 'cider' to denote apple juice that has been filtered.

Guess what?
it is 'apple juice' no matter if it is filtered or not.

Such is American commerce in the sale of "juice."

Just remember NOT to buy the cocktail version.
This is not juice, but a sugary "beverage" version of apple juice that is really bad for you.

Happy Holdays!
