So, do you think it would not be radical for Christians to stone unruly children? That's just doing what the Bible says. What about stoning prostitutes? Sho 'nuff, Jesus said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone", but if you take that to the extreme, might not radical Christianity then be to excuse anyone from any crime? One could use the Bible radically to excuse terrorism just as easily as one can use the Koran. People DO NOT excuse the behavior of muslim terrorists. That is what they are, and terrorism should not be tolerated. But to blame all of Islam for the acts of the terrorists is akin to blaming all of Christianity for the nut cases at the Westboro Baptist Church. Christianity had its day as well in the burning of witches and hereitcs. Is that not just a bit radical? Is it not a form of terrorism? It is a means of enforcing compliance to certain rules through the use of terror .. in those days, the terror was the fear of severe punishment. Fundamentalism and isegesis are tools that can be used to justify any behavior in any revealed religion, from Islam to Judaism to Christianity. I know many Muslims who are not of the ilk kof the terrorists. And when you ask about the 600 men, then consider the witches and heretics that I mentioned. Look to the Bible where the Jews were instructed by God to kill entire vilages, down to the animals that lived there. Look at the tales of the killings of the first-born among the Egyptians. If this is not a blood-thirsty tale, then neither can be Islam. Look at what the early Christian settlers did in the New World, and how the Native Americans were decimated. Do some historical research on the early days of thanksgiving, when it wasn't all about the fluffy peaceful relationship, but rather more about the deaths and decimations of tribes of Indians. No, dear, Islam is not more cruel than any other Abrahamic faith has been.
