Me! I think that this new law banning pit bulls is without a doubt, NOT FAIR. Millions of people everywhere are bitten by dogs each day. Yes, some of the dogs that are biting are pit bulls. However, so are chihuahuas and poodles. So what's the difference? If chihuahuas bite just as much as pit bulls, then why don't we make it illegal to own them? I'll tell you why that's not going to happen: because chihuahuas are "cute" and "cuddly".

Billions of people are killed each day. More than 60% is by HUMAN CAUSE and .001% is by pit bull cause. Hmm..looking at those characteristics, your kids just might grow up to become murderers. But we don't know which ones so, instead of making the laws stricter, let's all just make it illegal to have kids.

That's what the law is saying against pit bulls.

For those of you who have a dog, listen to this. Let's say you have a German Shepard. Okay, on the other side of town a german shpard bites a little girl. The next day they come up with a law saying you aren't allowed to own German Shepards anymore. Your little daughter starts crying her eyes out and your little son gets mad at you and gives you the silent treatment for the next month.

So what's the difference? Just fill in the words "German Shepard" with "Pit Bull" now. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE!?

I would say that this is the stupidest law ever. I think that a law against writing with a purple pen at 1:00 AM would make MORE SENSE than making it illegal to have a dog.

>_<

I have 3 and I love my dogs very much. I have a 3 year old male named Ajax, a 2 year old female (my avatar) named Chrysalis (Say-Say as my son calls her) and a 5 month old little girl named Jasmine (Jazz). Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I don't fault them for it. I just wish that some of them could meet my babies before they pass judgement because they are very friendly, well-behaved dogs. Every breed of dog has a few bad apples, but the entire breed shouldn't get judged for it. I firmly believe that it is all about the way you raise them. Mine are all well socialized, well exercised, well fed, and definetely well loved. I think this makes the difference between a wonderful pet and a mean dog. Anyway, that was just my 2 cents worth. Have a great day!

BSL supplies the individuals a faux experience of safe practices, and up to date information are starting up to reveal that BSL does absolutely no longer something to circumvent canine bites. some places which have enacted BSL nonetheless have a similar style of bites that they did before the regulations were in result. we extremely favor independent media, greater practise classes, somewhat hard animal husbandry regulations (adjust breeding, necessary spay/neuter) and severe risky canine regulations. BSL & risky canine regulations fluctuate in that BSL aims a breed, in spite of that categorical canine's temperament. There have already been pets tracked down, removed from LOVING homes and euthanized before the vendors ought to do something. once you outlaw something, purely outlaws ought to have it. it really is so elementary as that, yet implementing such risky canine regulations isn't as elementary. It calls for far attempt and dedication of the generic public, police and humane officials. canine extremely must be judged on their movements and not in any respect the way they look. notwithstanding, shall we imagine in 2007 that this can be elementary understanding... it isn't. If we went after the unlawful events, drugs, dogfighting and we actively bumped off those canine from the criminals that own them, shall we at present see consequences contained in the neighborhoods the position crime is universal. If we take good canine from good vendors it does no longer something for society yet reason worry for those those who're doing good for the breed. that is a lengthy, hard conflict. i'm in touch with an section practise Initiative which holds a Pit Bull one hundred and one type to coach the generic public in interior sight shelters, agencies, libraries and neighborhoods. in case you could help one canine, and that i ought to help one canine, and so on, a lot extra will be accomplished. Pit Bulls favor this style of large volume of added human beings to recommend for them, yet looking those who don't think the hype is proving extra difficult because the media misidentifies canine and skews public opinion each and each and every of the time. as far as racial obstacles, there are none with canine combating. notwithstanding, youthful African American little ones do not look to have the area fashions which will say "that is inaccurate". I propose, check out Vick? He turned right into a position style for this style of large volume of, gone so incorrect. Undoing what changed into unjustly accomplished to those canine will take a lot time, yet when we may be able to get sufficient human beings to assist, possibly all of us can make a huge difference.

I do not think that it is fair to ban pit bulls. Why ban pit bulls when any dog can bite and be aggressive? I am a firm believer that if a dog has aggression it’s because of how the owner raised it. People consider pit bulls as aggressive dogs because they were bred to fight, but today with most people they are bred for companionship but have to suffer their undeserved reputation. Pit bulls that are well socialized aren’t going to be aggressive with humans or dogs. Any dog that is not socialized with human and dogs are going to show aggression with what ever they are not socialized with. I believe that it is prejudice to make a pit bull have insurance, but a Labrador or yorkie doesn’t have to have insurance, as I would think it would be prejudice to have a Labrador or a yorkie to have to get insurance, but a pit bull doesn’t. If one dog has to have insurance then all dogs should have insurance. They all are capable of biting the same. It’s not the breeds fault that they were bred or misused for improper conduct, such as dog fights, guardian “chop shops” or used to protect drug dealers “possessions.” Pit bulls or pit bull breed types are gentle and loyal companions if raised with other dogs or children with a loving firm hand. You don’t have to beat the dog to get it to obey, that triggers aggression with any dog. If you have calm and assertive behavior you can be dominate or pack leader with any dog. I know of pit bulls that are therapy dogs. I know for a fact they are not going to have a aggressive dog be used for therapy. Not all pit bulls are aggressive. Their personality will be the way you raised them to be.

I love all dogs. Aggressive or not. Dogs with aggression problems were made that way by irresponsible owners and idiot backyard breeders.

Pit bulls are great as long as they are raised right. Any breed of dog can be mean if abused/and or taught to be mean.

Breed specific legislation, like picking your nose in public, is an embarrassment to the intelligence of our nation.
No data suggests one breed is more dangerous than another and the fact this data does not exist should be enough to stop the creation of breed specific laws in their tracks. However, not to my surprise the lack of hard data and facts does not seem to matter to a hysterical public nor to an ignorant governing body that only cares about the majority vote to keep them in office.
Law makers should be ashamed to show their faces in public as supporters of these laws and you should be ashamed to do so as well.
When is it okay to take someone’s rights away from them and deny them their freedom?
When is it okay to tell someone they can not have a specific breed of dog in their home because you do not feel "safe" as a result?
Your argument that you, like me, have a right to feel safe in your own community and that breed specific laws will allow you to feel secure is as empty as a starving man’s stomach.
Your right to feel safe is no more important than my right to own a specific breed of canine and have them in my home.
Your right to feel safe does not override or rule out my right to feel safe from your strong arm tactics to take my freedom of choice away.
Every year millions of people are bitten by dogs. How many of them are American Pit Bull Terriers or similar breeds also referred to as, "Pit Bulls?" You don’t know and you will never know because statistical data to support your argument does not exist.
Data is twisted and guesstimated to encourage your arguments validity. Even the Central for Disease Control refuses to allow their own data to be used in court because it is misrepresented as somehow showing certain breeds are more likely to bite than others.
When the office that collected the data says it is not valid enough to warrant such drastic laws you would think that would be enough to stop the use of these outdated incomplete stats to create these laws.
Unfortunately, it seems the people and the organizations that support these laws are not phased by the hard facts these laws are ineffective and only serve to take the lives of well mannered dogs and steal the responsible owners right to have those dogs in their lives.
In conclusion
Taking someones dog away because it belongs to a certain breed of dog is going to open the door to having all companion dogs taken away. Something the animal rights groups like the PETA would love to see occur.
No dog breed will be safe in the end. These laws will continue to spread from breed to breed, city to city, state to state until we are a nation without canine companions.
If you think that is untrue you simply have to look to countries like Italy that have included Border Collies and Corgi Terriers on their breed ban lists. It is a vicious cycle that will continue without recourse.
I will meet you on the streets and I will speak my mind and I will make my voice heard and I along with the thousands of others like me will put an end to your tyranny.
