Why not just zip them up and send them. Try win zip as it will reduce the size of the files. your contact can then unzip them when he receives them.

Here is what I do when I want to send a file to someone that is too big for email. If you and your friend have a good internet connection you can simply send the file(s) by AIM. I have sent entire CDs over the web via AIM.
If it is REALLY big you can use a free P2P program called ARES. It's easy to download, upload, and share anything and everything digital. Movies, music, pictures, documents... you name it.
The web site is www.aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net
After you download the program and start it up, make a folder on your windows desk top and then go into ares control panel and change the directory of the default folder to the one you just created. Then you can drag what ever you want to share over the web into the folder you created. One last step. In the ares control panel you can sync your folder and the program will automatically begin to upload and share whatever you have in the folder to who ever is online.
Then tell your friend to get the same program (ARES), find your specific file(s) you want to transfer, and then download them.

Email is not suited for sending large videos. Either use upload based services or specialized software like Binfer. Binfer can transfer very large videos straight to your contacts computer, does auto resumes etc.

The best site I know for such files is thepiratebay.org. It is a community for people to upload files such as music, video and computer software from where others can download. Check them out, hope this helps.

You need to send them via FTP which is what people use to send large files over the web.

winzip can also break up a large file into smaller ones. The receiver will also need to have winzip on their pc to join the smaller files
