Aren't those emotions signs of weakness? Weakness is imperfection and therefore god is exhibiting that he is imperfect.

The way deities are described by every holy book ever written is quite often the same description of humanity. This makes it logical to believe that gods were created in the image of humanity, and not the other way around.

even in God's weakness he is stronger than anyone on earth or in the heavens. Mans philosophy his nothing to do with what God's nature is. Well and if these emotions is a sign of weakness. We are in trouble my friend. Crimes of passion or often done from these emotions. Anger and jealousy can kill. I really do not think anyone was weak and restrained when they fulfilled these acts of violence. Nor would I think God would be weak or restrained if he got to this point. If he did Lord help us. Weakness can be many things, often it can be imperfection. But not always. Some can experience weakness and get weary from. Doing good things for others and still getting a negative response. Some would say being used by others. One sided affections or giving has its imperfections. If we often say no or often say yes. Can be a sign of weakness. It depends on the nature of the content of what is needed or asked. God allowed this nature in us as will. Some try hard not to exercise it! Yet hiding emotions, causes illness to occur. Depression or sickness. Stomach or head discomforts.

And why would you think that anger and jealousy -- in God -- would be a sign of weakness? Who has a better right? Rather, if you will assume for a moment and for the sake of discussion, that He exists and is the creator of everyting, who else BUT God has a right to be angry or jealous?

If you made a work of art and somebody came along and used it for toilet paper, wouldn't YOU be angry? And you only made it with the materials at hand, you didn't create the materials from scratch for that express artistic purpose.

If you invested yourself in a relationship, spent every hour of every day for an entire lifetime developing it, gave everything to it, sacrificed everything for it so that you and the other person could have nothing but joy in each other and someone broke that relationship and drew your loved one away into misery, poverty, loneliness and despair, wouldn't YOU be jealous?

If you would feel that way, why shouldn't the God who made you? After all, it's because you're made in His image that you have emotions at all.

i replaced into analyzing a number of the posts.... Quoted from solutions.... "particular, Jesus got here as a sword to divide the reliable and the undesirable yet he represented a God who's ever affected person and loving to his human beings. The indignant, jealous and vengeful God is that pictured interior the previous testomony, till now the appearance of Christ. " So The God till now Christ isn't the comparable God after Christ?!?!?! WHAT?! ARe you attempting to assert he's two confronted? i could have self belief that! yet once you attempt to guard your God, do no longer supply blended meanings! All you're doing is proving why the question replaced into asked. I trust this quote from yet another answer "Their god condems human beings for determining on the incorrect faith, it relatively is a important sin in my e book. " My recommendations: faith is a vogue a man or woman worships an greater being. So any faith worshiping god is doing it to the comparable being! basically as a results of fact they do it in a diverse way or call the being diverse names does no longer advise they are going to hell as a results of fact it relatively is not the Christians VIEW!!!

No they are not a sign of weakness at all! If a child knows better than to do something he or she is not supposed to, parents get angry, if a husband/wife goes out screwing everything thats not nailed down don'e we get jealous? those things are classified as righteous indignation, which is perfectly ok whether it's God or if it's one of us. It's being mad/anngry for no GOOD reason or being jealous of what someone else has, or who they are, how much money they make, etc. that makes it sinful. I challenge you to find somewhere in the Word of God that shows God being angry or jealous for no good reason.

Your absolutely right. He DOES get angry and jealous. But those are not emotional weaknesses. He is angry for all the right reasons, you see. For instance, He is sometimes angry because man is incompetent and sinful. When we as humans get angry, we get angry for the wrong reasons mostly.
God only gets angry when it's necessary. As far as the jealousy thing goes, He knows man should not serve any other gods because he is the one true God. He is not so much jealous as He is disappointed. His jealousy is completely different from human jealousy.

it is a just anger a pure anger its hard even for me to understand but it is anger over people doing things wrong. And wouldn't you get angry if you gave these people everything you had, you created them and gave them a chance at forgiveness without invading their free will or being a 'spiritual rapist' . He is perfect. These are part of his nature and this is why we have these qualities too because we are made in his image but because of sin our angry and jealousy often is not pure.

Anger isn't necessarily sin. The Bible says "be ye angry, and sin not", which means you can be angry but don't let it control you to the point of sinning.

God is jealous because He DESERVES our praise. It's not fair for a human being to say "I deserve such-and-such" because we're all screw-ups. But the perfect God is worthy of all.

I don't think anger is a sign of weakness. And what does He have to be jealous about?

I'm not a Christian, but I seem to remember my mother (a Methodist Sunday school teacher) telling me that anger and jealousy are not NECESSARILY wrong. It wasn't even exactly like it's OK for God but not OK for humans. I think her basic idea was righteous indignation.
