Cold cats do shiver. If the cold gets through their fluffed fur, their body does the same thing ours does--shiver to generate heat.
They shiver if they're scared too.

I don't know if I've ever felt a cat shiver from the cold, but they certainly can shiver and tremble when they are anxious or scared.
While most cats are covered with fur keep in mind that they evolved in a desert region and enjoy a warm environment. They also have exposed or thinly covered skin on their face, ears and paws, so if you find it cold there's a good chance that your cat will too.

So long as he has no other symptoms I would assume it's the cold weather. I'd watch him very closely over the next few days however and if he gets worse, take him to the vet for a check-up. If it is just the cold, in the winter months I use heater pads which you heat up in the microwave. You put them under a blanket or the cats bed and they give off heat for up to 12 hours. My siamese are quite delicate and sensitive to cold and they love the heater pads when it's cold.

My cat does.. she does when she is scared too. I know dogs shiver. But if it tries to get under a blanket it could be cold but cats have a thick coat so it shouldnt get cold easily

I have never seen any of my cats shiver. An animal will shiver when itis ill! There must be something wrong with your cat for it to do this. It is not the cold. I have seen them sort of shake when they are making the strange sound when they see a bird but that is the only time I have never seen a cat shiver at all. I really think there is something wrong.

No, not from cold. They do, however, shiver when fearful AND from pain.
Why are you worried about the cat being cold? Is the cat outside in bad weather?
