Going to go out on a limb here Kallan, but it seems to me that to be a well rounded person and to truly know ourselves we must look deep inside and embrace our inner soul, look it squarely in the eye and come to terms with it...in this way we can reach peace with ourselves or if not peace at least an understanding.......; )

Not sure what I think about the guy-never met him.
But I think that the quote is partially good, and partially bad.
'embracing the whole of one's experience-good, bad or ugly; painful or exalted; dull or boring.' is exactly right-learn from your mistakes. BUT
'Nourishing the soul is the process of drinking at the life stream, coming back to one's true self' is not right.
You see, we're not supposed to come back to our 'true self' we're supposed to come to God for everything. Rely on God, not yourself. If you rely souly on yourself..you're gonna have a BAD life let me tell ya!
That's my thoughts, thanks for asking!
Love in Christ

Not bad, except at the end it should be something like "exciting or boring," because the other contrasts are yin-yang style.
It sound a lot like the conclusion of Richard's story of the Fool's Journey. Have you been keeping up with his 360?

Silence its the only available retreat which would be seen uniquely ours... a place to contemplate approximately existence, a place to handle what to do, a place for concept. As a Tai-Chi instructor I a while fill the silence with the information of my own life in the workout of trouble-free guided strikes, waves of information as a comfortable sea accomplishing the sea coast.

It is a colourful way of saying we should love oursleves, and I agree with that summation. We need to be our own best friend, our own cheerleader, the person in our corner fighting for us.
In this world of loss, the best thing to retain is our self-value.

Wonderful quote.
We do not always like to examine ourselves. I know I don't because it just makes me even more sad.
We are probably more critical of ourselves than we are of others.
