why are my points being lower whn i ask quetions?

They take 5 points away from you for asking a quesiton. They give you 3 points when you make an answer the best answer. up in the right by your picture it says your points, click on the number of points you have and it goes to a page that explains everything.

If you're talking about on here, on Yahoo! Answers, it's because it costs you 5 points to ask a question.

If you reply to a question, you'll be awarded 2 points, and if your response gets voted as Best Answer, you'll be awarded a further 10 points.

Good question! Everyone loses the same points when they ask a question but without the questions there are no fun answers so it seems without merit. The only time you should lose points, in my estimation, is when you make suggestive or inappropriate comments.
