True Christians do not celebrate Christmas. Partly due to all the "noise" Jehovah's Witnesses have made in letting everyone know that it is a pagan holiday, they now say that "Yeah, we know all that, we just stick to the date in order to remember Jesus' birth...."
Jesus commanded his followers to commemorate his death, not his birth.
Luke 22:19- Keep doing this in remembrance of me.”

Many pagan traditions have not changed since the beginning of human society. Santa is just a Satanic knock-off of Jesus.
Santa has white hair like wool,
So does Jesus: Rev 1:14 Dan. 7.9
Santa comes from the North Pole
So does Jesus: Ez 1:4 and Psalms 48:2
Santa knows who has been naughty and nice
So does Jesus: Rev 19:6
Santa says Ho,Ho
So does Jesus: Zech 2:6
Santa comes at an unknown time,
So does Jesus: Matt 24:36
Santa has a twinkle in his eye
So does Jesus: Rev 1:14, 2:8
Diane said it. Winter Solstice has a lot to do with this date.

There is a new science study that reveals when the star actually happened. Looking first at the clues found in Matthew.
And I plan to get the book, but forgot about it so need to find where I got the information about the book. I believe it is available Oct.2007.
You could do a web search.
December25 is in the winter where people have to stay indoors more. So? It is still a family gathering time. And the idea is the giving & sharing of family meals. So? God so loved us that He 'gave' His Only Begotten Son... Christ mas or Meal in remembrance of Christ as Gods gift to us.
It doesn't matter who was having pagan holidays or just cultural holidays. God gave us a gift & I don't know the exact date (yet) of Jesus birthday. But since the days are short & families can get together, we do so. And we remember Gods gift to us.
Also, it is prophesied by http://www.kimclement.com that the Lord says we are going to have a 'Merry Christmas' this year. The Lord Jesus is going to bless us special. So? I am not under the law of sin & death, but under grace. And so God says I can celebrate Christmas. So? I do.

Dec 25 was supposedly some ancient Egyptian god's birthday and ,like many things pagan , was carried down by the romans and merged into so called "christianity" . By keeping this day they are , in effect , worshipping this god .

No they cannot, but an encyclopedia can. Christmas has NOTHING to do with Jesus.
Actually, Jesus died in the spring, and more than likely was born in the fall...Sept, Oct.
Many who celebrate this holiday say they overlook the pagan part and celebrate Jesus. Wrong...you cannot mis clean and unclean. It is a pagan holiday, no matter how you view it. You are still do the celebration.

elementary. Christmas (the Mass of Christ) is (and continuously has been) the Eucharistic social gathering of the beginning of Jesus Christ, God the Son. The angel said to them, "do no longer be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good information of serious exhilaration which will be for each and each and every of the individuals. For on the instantaneous contained in the city of David a savior has been born for you who's Messiah and Lord. And it is a demonstration for you: you'll locate an infant wrapped in swaddling outfits and mendacity in a manger." And without word there turned right into a mess of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: "Glory to God contained in the utmost and in the international peace to those on whom his want rests." (Luke 2:10-14) Christmas is through no skill a pagan vacation. no human being is familiar with the precise day at the same time as Jesus changed into born. If a date on the brink of the iciness solstice changed into chosen for Christmas to make conversion of pagans to Christianity easier then what's the damage of that? you should probable stumble on a pagan vacation on the brink of any date on the calendar. With love in Christ.

Good work smiles. I thought He was born in the fall though. Christians are financing a lot of evil by celebrating these dates in pagan ways. Christmas trees, ornaments aren't needed. JEREMIAH 10 shows that. Get rid of chocolate easter bunnies too. And haloloween...barf.

Since the BIble gives no date for His birth (read Matt 1 or Luke 2), anyone who claims to know the date for certain is only believing a tradition of some sort.

I don't know of any Christian leader today who believes that Jesus was born on Dec 25th.
Christmas was established as a Holiday on Dec 25 long before any of us were born.
We really don't have any idea of exactly what date Jesus was born on and it really doesn't matter what date he was born on.
So why would anyone suggest changing it to a date that would just be another guess?

Smartypants, that don't sound like fun at all! A quiet, pleasant dinner at Black Angus Steak House is what I like to do! Asker, e-mail me more about the pagan history?
