like, when you say that all people, besides you, will go to hell and that's "the truth" (according to you), would you accept other people's truth that you're delusional?

if not, then why do you insist on other people to accept your own "truth"?

why do religious people always have to twist other people's words? like you are doing to tango now. that's right... it's all you can really do when faced with any form of logic. saying that he is trying to redefine "truth" when he clearly said that is the statement CHRISTIANS use. and then he asked them that if this was their logic, why cant they give others the same courtesy. if you people really are this stupid as to not even understand his question... maybe i now understand how you can believe in the bible. and to give an example of a christian who made the statement tango asked about, bill o'rielly said "why cant you accept that i have a truth that is true to me but may not be true for you" (and when he said this he was referring to god, nothing else)christians are trying to redefine the word not tango.

When two contradictory statements are presented to each other there can be only two possible outcomes. Either one of them is true and the other false or they are both false. A problem many people in today's society have is that they believe there are no absolutes. This is a huge logical fallacy. For example most people would say murder is wrong. What if I believed murdering women allowed me to connect with God? Would that be a truth? Would you be willing to accept my "own truth"? We Christians believe Jesus is the only way to heaven and that the Gospel is the absolute truth. When we see other man made religions we believe they are not the truth, and why should we? Hinduism and Christianity can not be true at the same time. One must be true and the other false or they both must be false. It can't be a truth that murder is ok for me because I believe in it yet murder is wrong for everyone else. There are absolutes and there are absolute truths.

When it comes to religion I believe only what I read in the Bible as truth. I don't know positively that I will be going to heaven, but I can tell you those who won't be based on the word of God. My nature is to be very critical and unloving so it is hard for me to be loving. If it was not for the spirit I would not be very loving at all except to my family and even then I might be harsh. It is a daily struggle for me and some moments I allow my sinful nature to take over, but I repent, apologize and move on.

I expect people to accept whatever they want as truth, but that does not make what they accept truth.

Realistically, we can only share what we believe to be truth.
Others do not have to agree, that is their privilege. Fundies are, however, under obligation to Jesus to share the Gospel's truth with others.
We are also warned in scriptures to not receive the any other truth, other than what we read in the Bible.

I can hear it, but I cannot take it to heart.
Just like folks can hear me, but do not have to receive it.

Hearing brings us to a choice:
Accept, or reject, and the knife cuts both ways for all.

Truth of higher criticism : anything in the Bible that involves a miracle did not happen.

Truth of Fundamentalists : if the Bible says that miracles happened, that is true.

Would you care to explain how those two statements can be harmonized? Use either perspective.

Truth is truth whether anyone believes it or not.

If you are from Chicago and want to claim that the Cubs just won the world series, that's not true.

It does not matter where you are from, the BoSox won the world series, like it or not.

Truth is not relative, it never has been and never will be.

Truth is objective.

So have fun celebrating that the Cubs won the world series.

If that's YOUR truth?

Yes, just as long as their truth agrees with the word of God.
Show me in scripture and it is gospel.

People can have whatever opinion they like. I matters little to me. But there is only ONE truth. Everything outside of that is not the truth.

Because it is not our truth. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He said that. Is that delusional? Talk to Him about it.

God is the only one I know who cannot and does not lie, so if I tell you what He says and you reject that, then you have not rejected me, but you reject God. I can accept what you say but I do not have to agree with it and vice versa and we can also agree with each other. It's called take it or leave it and it's just that simple. I still respect you as a person either way.
